  • SRV, Walter Trout, Clapton, Robert Cray and Larry Amos

I went to watch Larry Amos at the Brazen Head last night, he was a special guest with the Charlene Charlie King band....
Front row seats and an audience of about 20 people.
To say I was totally blown away by this premier musician is an understatement.
And here's the best part, that Marshall in the pic is not Larry's, he played through a little Vox amp just behind him.....
and the guitar?
a budget Squier, with just a tone & volume control,,, through a Boss ME-25.
shows you what a guitar king can do with any guitar.
so what does all this have to do with my Subject line?? IMO Larry is way up there with the best of them..
it was a real privilege to be in the presence of such a talented musician.
So next time Larry's in town, go check him out,,, you wont be disappointed, I guarantee that.

    a month later
He bought that pedal in the music shop i work in on Saturdays. In pe of all places, dunno if it's still the same one though ? he jammed a bit on a acoustic there, and my mind was blown. He is brilliant, and has the mileage to back it up. He's a cool oke
Been wondering where that legend disappeared to.

My first ever experience being on stage was when Larry called me up to play Hey Joe with him.
      Something I will never forget.

Which Brazen Head does he play at? Would love to go and watch him sometime.
He was at the Brazen Head in Sandton, but it wasn't a regular gig, he was a guest artist there, but yep a very cool dude, down to earth and lots of good stories to tell,
He has a Facebook page, I'm sure you can check his gigs on there. Hope he comes to pe again
