Strats of GFSA

Don't thank me. I know we were all soon going to have the "Blue MIM Strats with a Warmoth neck and gold hardware of GFSA" thread. Post Strats. Any strats. Rule: You must own it. You must submit a pic of your actual guitar, not a product shot. It must have a strat-shaped body (my pacifica doesn't count. Your Strat shaped ESP with three humbuckers and a floyd rose and a pointy headstock does.) That should be fine.

I'd say, if it's close enough for you to regard it as your Strat, it's a Strat.

I'm inclined to say that the outline should match the original Strats. But I'm not too fussy.

Thanks man. It's not actually a Mary Kaye signature Strat, otherwise it would have certain vintage appointments and gold hardware, but yes the finish (Translucent Honey Blonde on ash) itself is the same.

Yup. Freehand with a Dremel.

Almost forgot - the Neutrik locking jack on the side is recessed too - that's what really got me into recessing as they are quite big.

Nice work, I saw a build thread by Ron Kirn and he also does the recess work.

Also my exact sentiment when guitars are often and way too loosely (imho) coined to be 'Super Strats'... At very least the outline of the body should match the original to earn the title...

Standout Strats in this thread (for me at least):
- Sebber's Blonde CS Custom Classic (I have a weakness for ash blondes)
- Babbalute's pink Squier (takes a real man to pull off a pink guitar)
- Wizard's Tuxedo Hamer (modded exactly the same as I would have done)
- Rikus' Siennaburst (it's a Siennaburst!)
- Mine (fits like a glove)

It really accentuates the grain, Shreddy Smurf also has a great looking Sienna Burst.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure this a MIJ Photoflame...serial between 1990 and 1995?
It has Fender decal on the headstock but also says 'Squier'.

If I'm correct, I had two of these, sold them to Grant a few years ago...where did you get yours?

And my trusty Squire that has recently been restored to full working order thanks to Alan.

And hopefully this counts. It's a parts caster with Mighty Mite body and neck. Currently my favorite to play on.
