I am looking for a decent recorder and someone suggested this rather than buy up a mic and interface for iPad etc. Has anyone used on, where do I get at best price etc?

OK far from where you are and not the same model but I bought a H2N from Toms and got a sweet deal. And I like the thing. Like super simple to use which is a prereq for me hey. Over at the AGF there is a lot of love for the H4N with it's multitrack abilities 'nall. But I see that there is a H6 now.

You know, I dont know if I paid more than that about two years ago when I bought mine brand new. Phone around. I remember I got it so cheap I also bought the accessory kit which includes nice little case thing, AC pack, USB stuff, remote and a useless little tripod. I think it is anyway. But the best thing about the H2N is it's so simple - pretty much set your gain and press record and playback. And batteries last like forever.

Thx Ray, I am going to see it tomorrow. I have checked and the going price is now around R2500. This one is boxed and 2 months old so looks like a good deal. I agree though that the H4n is probably more than I need so this looks ideal.

on acoustics and vocals these work great.
....combine that with Reaper for editing and a good sounding room and you are on your way.
