Hi everyone,

I've just finished my next video from my recently released album.

Guitars used: Fender Strat, Tokai Loverock, Ibanez Artwood and Ibanez Bass.
Amp: Marshall TSL
Pedals: MI Audio

ps. Remember to watch at the highest quality setting on Youtube (480).

The drummer is Larry Rose.

I also had a chance to test out the new lighting in the soundbooth which I installed about two weeks ago.

Cheers,

Peter.

Im gonna comment on what I liked:
drum sound! great sound there dude!

rhythm guitars in the second half when you play the LP, good sounds!

    ?
      Great Peter... I enjoyed that.
Thanks for the comments Sheron and Pete.

Sheron, I can tell you that it's as much about the drummer as it is about recording drums. Larry is a really great session drummer and is really studio fit. Makes my job a pleasure.

        Much appreciated.

        Cheers,

        Peter.

              Thanks guys,

The result of uploading this video has made a few exciting things happen for me.

I can't get into it just yet but watch this space.

              Cheers,

              Peter.

                  Beautiful. Very tasteful indeed!

This is EXACTLY the kind of music I listen to, . . and play (aspire to) :-[

Man, what a great song. Really tight, with spot-on drumming, . . . . looove the strat sound, loove the LP sound, . . everything.

                      Well done sir !
Thanks for the comments and for listening guys,

                        Cheers,

                        Peter.

                            Thanks Dr Gonzo,

It was recorded at my studio (Foxglove Studios) in Joburg.

What do you want to know? Ask away!

                            Cheers,

                            Peter.
                              The usual -

guitar amp and mic used on amp?
Drum overheads, snare and kick drum mic / mic setup! those drums really sound great

Guitar amp was a Marshall TSL with an SM57 close up on the speaker. Amp was clean and I used a Crunchbox for the dirt.
Drumkit is a Gretsch Catalina kit - SM57s on the snare and toms. I use Behringer B1s on the Hi Hats and Overheads. I find that they're quite bright and they tend to make the cymbals sparkle.

So while they're not great (too bright) for vocals or other stuff they do work well for these applications.

The kick drum had an AKG D112 inside.

Bass was recorded with a bass Pod DI.

Acoustic was recorded with an SE2200 (Once again quite a bright mic but works very well for acoustics and nylon string gtrs.)

                                That's about it.

                                Cheers,

                                Peter.
A modest setup and a big sound! Thumbsup :yup:
