It's a cheap Asian Strat...

The "bargain" is somewhat negated by the fact it'll cost far more than the cost of the guitar to get it here.
Ja sorry Alan I was not suggesting that it's a bargain in SA. But you have to admit if you are in the states getting a Fender for under 80 bucks is not a bad deal.
Well, it's not even really a Fender, it's a "Starcaster by Fender" - the same as a Squier is "by Fender". Basically the Starcasters are cheap 'n nasties made with the big chain budget department stores like Walmart in mind. They were never originally intended for the MI market. They make Squier Bullets look like Custom Shop Strats in comparison.

If anything it says a lot about the direction GC is taking these days.
This all might be. But, it does fill the gap where a person is not realy sure if he/she wants to play and just like to tryu their hand at it.

I just had a trawl through the used section of GC, amazing what they had for under 80USD. Were shipping not so prohibitive (at least at this price), we'd be laughing.

A ton of Squire Strats, Dean's, Ibby's, Epiphones, even a Jackson Dinky - condition might be questionable, but in comparison to a Starcaster, I'd try my luck.
