So much so went Sunday again and this time standing managed to get right up front against the barriers dead centre.
Myles Kennedy a legend in his own time.
Glen Hughes just a monster singer how he does it is beyond me and at 63!

Feel privileged to have been there
I always seem to get it wrong, when I should be front and center I'm at the back and when I should be relaxing further back and not worrying about the stage I get dragged to the front !

We were seated on Sat too and sadly couldn't find a baby sitter for Sunday otherwise we'd have tried to get standing tickets for Sunday too !

Jeez that was amazing! Blew me away! I could've gone JUST for Myles and Slash. That said, the whole band was amazing. Glenn Hughes = amazing vocalist! He's definitely still got it!
That was an unreal show. 2 songs in I was already thinking that I've never seen something so awesome in my life.

One thing did occur to me, there is a bit of a debate about how much better Myles is than Axl or vice versa. Myles is a great singer but it hit me how good Axl Rose must have been in his day to handle those songs.
I was there for the Saturday show, and wished I could stay to see it again on Sunday. It was a great concert, I was right in front and Matt Sorum gave his drumstick to the guy next to me, and almost got a plectrum from Gilby ☹. I liked the fact that it was held in Suncity, that just meant less people being there meaning a more intimate concert. if I had to pay double that to see them again I will. man Glen Hughes blew my socks off, he's got a set of loud pipes!!
@Don, agree. Axl may be a prick but he can (could?) sing! And write! (I'm assuming he wrote their songs?)

If I had to do it again, I'd camp outside the doors to be closer. Man I'm going through withdrawal. Have to agree with you again, Don, that was a sort of once in a lifetime experience. That said, if I have the money, I'll definitely try and catch them again overseas sometime but only if Myles is singing for them again! I practically worship him ?

I agree as well. Axl was an awesome singer and front man during the G'nR days. I believe most of the songs were co-written with other band members, but he was a huge creative force back then.

Turned into a bit of a Diva towards the end, but wouldn't you get frustrated as well after 10 years on the road with a crazy bunch like Slash, Duff etc?? Hell, look at Steven Adler now, he must have gone totally overboard in those days, he's still buzzing...

If you have ever played GTA San Andreas, you'll know that he did the voice of Tommy "Nightmare" Smith, the DJ on the K-DST radio station. He ripped himself off quite a lot during his monologues, so that shows me the man has a bit of a sense of humour as well...
I got one of Matt Sorums's drum sticks,. the girl next to me got Slash's pick. I tried to swap with her but of course she did not want to know

              ?
Apparently Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore are at Sun City filming a new movie...very cool, I look forward to it's release, I love Sandler's movies.
I guess at the current exchange rate SAfrica is one of the cheapest places in the world to make a movie.

A connection of mine was booked into the Palace for a few days prior to and for the KOC concert.
He says the hotel was crazy, besides the KOC boys hanging around everyday, you also had Sandler and crew there as well.

It took him a bit of bribery and corruption to get his signature 'Slash' Les Paul signed by Slash, in big bold black on the front of the guitar...he's been offered $14,000 for the guitar. ?
I said SELL it, he says he doesn't need the money. ???

If I am not mistaken Steven Adler had a stroke or something.

Slash tweeted that he wants to come back with the Conspirators (and KOC?)

Yip, and unfortunately he's back in rehab at the moment.

Adam Sandler was in the KOC audience on Saturday and apparently the two Les Paul Slash signatures played by Slash on the KOC SA Tour were from Marshall Music straight of the Gibson wall (one from JHB and one from CA).

Slash actually tweeted how impressed he was with the standard USA production models.
strange.. i saw a fb post of JD at JD Customs saying how he was setting up Slash's own guitars ???

JD Custom works from the Marshall Music Woodmead (JHB) premises, he most probably was setting up the guitar that came from Marshall JHB before being sent down to Slash. Slash apparently brought no guitars or amplifiers with him. Regarding amplifiers he specified JCM 800 Marshall's or similar.

Does JD setup your own personal guitars, Mike?

he has done some set-ups in the past but not exclusively. You know who I use most of the time ?
I have just found out that in the end Slash did bring his own guitars and the Marshall Music supplied items were not used at the shows.

                                  Apologies
