I have either option of staying or the shuttle. I'll definitely get there, just figure it would be cool to road trip it with a GFSA'er if possible.
Kings of Chaos Sun City
7 days later
You can catch a lift with me and my wife if you want to. We will be leaving early as we want to hang around Sun City a bit as we haven't been there in ages then we will be heading back after the show. PM me if you want a ride.
What room did you get for a grand?...I'll give you two grand for it and a dinner for two. ?flatfourfan wrote: Can't help sorry..........I'm going...........we're staying over, it's not too much, we paid a grand for a basic room for the night with breakfast included for 2 people.
F&*k, Sun City is fully booked, the Hotel, the Cascades, the Palace, and the Cabanas >

My favourite venue, I've seen everyone there, every seat in the house is killer.
That's good news. I'm sitting in Block L.Tokai SA wrote: My favourite venue, I've seen everyone there, every seat in the house is killer.
A mate called me for a gig on Saturday.
Me: "Can't do this weekend. Am in JHB."
Him: "To watch KOC?"
me: "of course"
Him"F*k every lead guitarist in Durban is away that weekend."
So apparently all the daughters will be safe that weekend. Happy Father's day Durban.
Super excited.
There is an interview and review of the Cape Town show if anyone is interested on watkykjy.
Be warned: BIG SPOILER in terms of song choice etc. stumbled on it by accident so be warned, luckily I did not read the whole thing!

We're going to Saturday's show, who else will be there? Sitting in block i, lower upper.......what ever that means!
I hate it when they have international acts at suncity. such a flipping mission to get there and a fortune to stay over. Over it.
If you're like Sheldon from Big Bang theory, then warning - spoiler alert.RJN wrote: I hate it when they have international acts at suncity. such a flipping mission to get there and a fortune to stay over. Over it.
They were so awesome if the only gig did they was in Rwanda I'd make an effort to get there.
Sun city is a ball ache and I huffed and puffed and was basically dragged by the Mrs, but 2 hours later I think it was as good as front row SOAD 2 years ago if not better !
It was quite incredible. Me and the missus enjoyed it immensely. The 1h30 drive from PTA was definitely worth it!

Saw the show Saturday night seated, absolute y epic.
So much so went Sunday again and this time standing managed to get right up front against the barriers dead centre.
Myles Kennedy a legend in his own time.
Glen Hughes just a monster singer how he does it is beyond me and at 63!
Feel privileged to have been there

I always seem to get it wrong, when I should be front and center I'm at the back and when I should be relaxing further back and not worrying about the stage I get dragged to the front !msch997 wrote: Saw the show Saturday night seated, absolute y epic.

We were seated on Sat too and sadly couldn't find a baby sitter for Sunday otherwise we'd have tried to get standing tickets for Sunday too !
Jeez that was amazing! Blew me away! I could've gone JUST for Myles and Slash. That said, the whole band was amazing. Glenn Hughes = amazing vocalist! He's definitely still got it!dee wrote: =
That was an unreal show. 2 songs in I was already thinking that I've never seen something so awesome in my life.
One thing did occur to me, there is a bit of a debate about how much better Myles is than Axl or vice versa. Myles is a great singer but it hit me how good Axl Rose must have been in his day to handle those songs.

I was there for the Saturday show, and wished I could stay to see it again on Sunday. It was a great concert, I was right in front and Matt Sorum gave his drumstick to the guy next to me, and almost got a plectrum from Gilby
. I liked the fact that it was held in Suncity, that just meant less people being there meaning a more intimate concert. if I had to pay double that to see them again I will. man Glen Hughes blew my socks off, he's got a set of loud pipes!!

@Don, agree. Axl may be a prick but he can (could?) sing! And write! (I'm assuming he wrote their songs?)
If I had to do it again, I'd camp outside the doors to be closer. Man I'm going through withdrawal. Have to agree with you again, Don, that was a sort of once in a lifetime experience. That said, if I have the money, I'll definitely try and catch them again overseas sometime but only if Myles is singing for them again! I practically worship him ?

I agree as well. Axl was an awesome singer and front man during the G'nR days. I believe most of the songs were co-written with other band members, but he was a huge creative force back then.Norio wrote: @Don, agree. Axl may be a prick but he can (could?) sing! And write! Turned into a bit of a Diva towards the end, but wouldn't you get frustrated as well after 10 years on the road with a crazy bunch like Slash, Duff etc?? Hell, look at Steven Adler now, he must have gone totally overboard in those days, he's still buzzing...
If you have ever played GTA San Andreas, you'll know that he did the voice of Tommy "Nightmare" Smith, the DJ on the K-DST radio station. He ripped himself off quite a lot during his monologues, so that shows me the man has a bit of a sense of humour as well...
I got one of Matt Sorums's drum sticks,. the girl next to me got Slash's pick. I tried to swap with her but of course she did not want to know
?
?
Apparently Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore are at Sun City filming a new movie...very cool, I look forward to it's release, I love Sandler's movies.
I guess at the current exchange rate SAfrica is one of the cheapest places in the world to make a movie.
A connection of mine was booked into the Palace for a few days prior to and for the KOC concert.
He says the hotel was crazy, besides the KOC boys hanging around everyday, you also had Sandler and crew there as well.
It took him a bit of bribery and corruption to get his signature 'Slash' Les Paul signed by Slash, in big bold black on the front of the guitar...he's been offered $14,000 for the guitar. ?
I said SELL it, he says he doesn't need the money. ???

If I am not mistaken Steven Adler had a stroke or something.Arno West wrote:I agree as well. Axl was an awesome singer and front man during the G'nR days. Slash tweeted that he wants to come back with the Conspirators (and KOC?)
