  • Self-Indulgent Friday: What're y'all GASsing for?

Given a recent thread, I thought a totally self-indulgent current GAS listing might be in order. I'll kick things off:

I've spent enough time on the banjo now to know I'm going to keep playing the thing. So I want one that is actually playable above the fifth fret. Nothing with a Hondo logo on the headstock will be considered.

I'm tempted to see if I can gild the lily and get even more tone out of my Tokai LP with a pair of Bareknuckle humbuckers. Maybe the PG Blues set or a pair of Mules.

I want one of them nifty Senheisser amp mics that has the diaphram on the side so that you can literally just hang it from the amp handle in front of the speaker (because when I see someone do that with an SM57, such savage thoughts of murder and dismemberment flow through me that my blood pressure soars).

A couple of those Hercules stands that're both an A-frame stand, but also keep the neck in place so they don't slide off sideways.

A Moonstone ceramic slide with a thick wall and the right size for my pinky.

Carry on there.

    Good call...
The E609 works like a charm, I love the EQ of that mic, so easy to use and only $100.

Yeah. Same price as a 57 and saves the hassle of getting a stand or a clamp to mic the amp. I figure I could put a little velcro loop inside my amp cabinet and keep it in there all the time ready for action.
I am a weak weak man. My self indulgent item is probably at customs at the moment. Trying to be patient.

It's a six stringer yes. I need to join a support group. :'(

                Like these ones? ?

Haha. Compared to some I've encountered online, I think you're probably only just getting started ?
I have many things that i GAS for.

First is a new guitar. Or a second guitar. The current options are A telecaster thinline '72 or a Standard Telecaster.
I want to get new pickups for my Gretsch Projet. Either Guitarfetish pups or if i'm willing to spend the money, some tv jones.
                  I want to get a SM 57.
I want to get a pedalboard for my pedals. like either a pedal train or maybe something like a Gator.
New recording interface. I currently use my POD HD and i'm thinking of selling/replacing it with other pedals and getting a decent interface for recording.
                    June.

To Suhr, or not to Suhr. That is the question.

Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slinging of an outrageous fortune...

So who's this June then? ?
A new corkscrew/bottle opener - Oh, and a custom built Craigsamp 30 Watter based on a Priceton circuit (With reverb!!)
                          My GAS list:

                          - Decent(ish) acoustic guitar (shopping on hold while I fix my Epi LP)
                          - Recording interface (Currently GT8 into PC Mic Jack...horror ? )
                          - Small PA to jam at home, with possibly some electronic drums so I can jam without killing the neighbours
                          - Pedal Power Supply
                          - SV 650S ...
I would love a good 5 string bass.

Also, an Eventide Space, but that's just ridiculous.
                              Gibson LP
US 70's Strat (Must be White with large headstock)
Danelectro electric guitar ( any of those real kitch retro jobbies)

                              Lowden Acoustic
Top of the Range Yamaha Nylon

A decent 5 watt tube Amp

and an Extra Room where I can store all this stuff. Plus a place to setup my studio
A house with a big enough room for me to work and record in. Fortunately we've just sold our existing house and are bidding on a little gem with this upstairs:

                                Hold thumbs.
A Fender Mustang IV, or a V head. Maybe also one of those little Gretas.
A Cabronita. Hear they're bringing out a Strat version later this year....
