So what is your best Looper pedal (from experience) and why? Which ones have you gone though and why did you get rid of them for something else?

Im trying to chose... My current top pick is the RC-50 as you can have 3 difference phrases, bringing them in to kind of build up a track you know, not just one loop and its overdubs. Also the auto-quantise feature (not sure how well that works ) and ability to clock sync it to other devices like DAW etc (again not sure how well that works)

Keen to hear some feedback ?
I don't have experience with loopers, but from specs and features, the RC50 would be my choice too.

The Roland/Boss devices usually sync pretty well to other gear.
I've tried a Hardwire DL1 (Delay/Looper) and the looping function in Guitar Rig 4 (using the rig kontrol 3 hardware).

I wouldn't be able to use either live - no confidence in being able to cut a loop perfectly every time. This is probably due to my timing being less than metronomic... :-[

The DL1 isn't a true looper, more of a delay pedal with a 20s loop function thrown in as a bonus. It doesn't quantize so the loop has to be 100% perfect - E.g. I run a drum loop from a another source, then try and cut a loop that stays in sync for as long as possible - I've managed to get about +/- 2min before the loop and drums are out of sync. It is however, one of the nicest delay's I've ever used!

Looping is better with GR, it does quantize - but I find the foot switches & software a little fiddly, so consistent results (again probably a human issue) are tricky.

My only reservation about the RC50 is that it's quite large, serious bit of real estate! But it's a Roland/Boss product (reliable & locally supported) and I've seen people use them with great success. (Also goes for the simpler Rc2/3 and Rc20).

Mine too exactly... but im wondering if it will be worth the big board for the ease of use and functionality :?

What about the boomerang.. looks pretty handy..not sure how available they are locally/ how the are priced?
If size is an issue, the RC-30 is a viable option - it has most of the features you need and few you don't. Doesn't have sync and only has two pedals, but you can add in up to two extra pedals anyway for those times you need the extra control.
I love my RC30 and with a foot switch it really shines.
But man that RC50 really is the Bees Knees.
was the RC50 not replaced by the RC300?!

either way, the RC3 i have isnt too bad..
i think i might enjoy the RC30 more, but i dont have space, or money, for one!
the extra switches are a must have for the rc3/30 though imo!
I have the Digitech Jamman. It's quite the boss. (pun anyone?)

                  :roflmao:

I only have experience with the RC30 , so i wont be much help here.
I need to get some experience with the RC-30 seeing as I bought one more than a year ago and it is still in the box.

Nah! Bre-yani says I must use my kit.
I've tried out a ton of loopers and honestly I still think the best one is this:

It's hard to find though, been replaced by a newer model that doesn't have some of the clever features that drew me to this one.

You find them second hand occasionally but they're not cheap, however in my opinion they are hands down the most functional looper on the market for if you try to incorporate looping into your live act as a band, it's still really great for solo but all the modern features of things like the RC-300 with independent fx on tracks etc may have a slight advantage there.

i seriously want an expression pedal almost exactly like this part..

To be honest that volume control mechanism is why I prefer this one to the newer one, with the newer one you can attach an expression pedal, but the side roller was just such a functional and compact answer to controlling the volume.

Also if you check out Manson guitars you'll see that on a few of their older models they used to mount the tone and volume pots sideways like that as well - I always thought it was a good idea if you were trying to get a super low profile guitar going.
im not a fan of big clunky expression pedals.
i would much rather prefer something like that with a roller in a smaller "standard" size enclosure..

Boomerang were the best in the 90's...
i've no doubt that they might still be...light years ahead of any major brand like Boss and digitech
