I've been trawling this forum for a while (I'm that "one guest" who's viewing a thread at the same time as you) and have finally decided to register.
I've been playing bass for twelve years, although I've found myself turning to the dark side (aka guitar) in recent years.
My gear is as follows:
Basses:
- Ibanez Gio GSR200FM tuned to standard (really nice for chord work when Jazz p'up selected and treble control on full)
- Cort Action A-V tuned one step down (ridiculously comfortable neck, and set up low for tapping)
Guitars:
- GuitarFetish Factory Blowout DIY jobbie tuned one step down - I'll start the build thread soon
- Nylon-string guitar that my dad bought for his brother for £25 back in the 70's when they were students. I'm not sure of the maker - the label in the soundhole says "Tatra Classic"
- GuitarFetish Factory Blowout "accidental axe" - they sent me the incorrect body when I ordered the other, but let me keep it as an apology for the mistake. I'll get 'round to building it some day...
Effects:
- Digitech RP90 multi-fx (guitar)
- Zoom 506II multi-fx (bass)
- Boss ODB-3 Overdrive (bass)
- Boss CEB-3 Chorus (bass)
Amp:
- Kempton BB300SP (no, I haven't heard of it either - seems to have a following in Italy, according to Google). Screenprinted on the back is "Made in the EEC" which places it somewhere between 1957 and 1993 (thanks, Wiki!). I picked it up for R2,500 at a Cash Converters eight or nine years ago.
As you can see, my gear's a bit on the inexpensive side but it does the job well and that's all I need.
