its pretty good so far, just some more fine tuning to do

    Beautiful!
I'm even more convinced that I need to raid my grandfather's garage for some oregon pine

i will if you dont ?
using very old oregon pine is cool, cause it comes with a story.

the only drawback about it is, its soft and dents easy, but you will have a vintage looking guitar in no time, if that's what you are after.

i found this photo, the day i started
That looks like stunning workmanship there Manfred! Nice!

Wish it was heading my way!

        Cheers
        G!
          Friken Oulik Manny
couldnt agree more.. this is a super looking tele!
oregon pine is a great wood to work with, and smells luverly too ?

ot/ kiaat is my favourite wood to work on, just because of the smell /ot

its really not rocket science, look into it, its a lekker hobby, there is tons of info on the net on how to build guitars.
Manny that really came out looking great! That pickguard is a beaut too, well done mate...
Very nice! Damn, but that Oregon looks cool! How much does the body weigh? Did you check?

I see you finished with Nitro, did you buy it locally in CT?
                        @rikus

did check the weight but compared to the alder it is alot less in weight, but the minute you start adding the pickups and parts its picks up weight quickly

yes i place an order at Mica to order the nitro laquer.

it is Plascon WL - 6(gloss) if i remember correctly(you get a matt one as well)
was about R400 odd for 5L. and then the sanding sealler ss-16(its common to find this one in the hardware store)

but you can get from the paint suppliers as well, you can try Techipaint in cape town, they mix the stuff them self.
but i have used the plascan wl - 6 and works nicely
The last batch of WL-6 I got gave me problems - it just didn't cure properly. ☹

                            Brilliant! Thanks!

I need to start keeping an ear on the ground for old oregon beams... ?
                              Beautifully done! Congrats! :applause:

no need to look, there is a few offcuts at rarewoods (just like the ones i used) to make a 3 piece body

nitro is the noahs ark of paint, you can look at better stuff like 2K or even danish oil the body which i think is the best
