  • Dan Patlansky Stripped - Acoustic Tour

i saw him at centurion theatre. i thought it was a truly great, superb show. some really interesting re arrangements of some old standards...

definitely highly recommended for any guitar enthusiast - though some dan fans may find it a bit of a stretch from his last tours which were tending towards the rock end of the blues spectrum..

the guitar he played was, i think, a martin of some kind. sounded really good.

Oy, forgot about this. I see his around the corner from me on the 8th in Parys. Will try make a plan

DADGAD is an unsual choice for slide, no? More likely open D - almost the same DADF#AD.

DADGAD is usually the stomping ground of eccentrics and crusties - Davy Graham, Bert Jansch, John Martyn, Squonk...

        A Martin of coarse. ?

        Very enjoyable show
for sure a martin and a prob om model for that matter
Good to hear that he did some rearrangements on old classics,
I admire him a lot and he is one of the best I have seen here in SA (and europe for that matter) but sometimes he was to close to the original the few times i saw him and the overacting with the guitar trem became also bit boring after seeing him doing that three times exactly the same ?
It's a John Mayer signature. I am friends with the Patlansky family, and when I last visited, Dan had just bought it. Beautiful guitar, lovely to play.
Nice review and sadly out of town for this show. Was hoping to catch it but life is like that.

Great player dan and good to mention Clint and Andy , both accomplished musicians in their own right and both nice guys too boot.

Tickets booked for the Parys show on Saturday ?
Yeah, great show! If you have the chance, I really recommend you try catch it.

Ilse took along her Canon S95 compact (die hard Nikonian that she is ?) and snapped a couple of pics. Considering the low light, the camera is pretty impressive.

I got tickets to his performance this Thursday at Die Boer, CT. Can't wait.
