Hahahaha...... yep Deefstes, Ajileguitar's wife and daughter represented Australia (in fact his daughter is now IPSC World Champion, won in Greece, last year), at the IPSC World Shoot in Cebu, Philippines, 1999. My wife was in the RSA team, and they shot in the same squad. That's when we met.

We only found out recently that we had guitars in common as well. My Strat collection is nowhere near what Ajileguitar has ....... his is simply awesome !!
I'm interested in those Elite strats. I vaguely remember that there was some interesting stuff going on with the electronics on those. Can you tell us a little about them? Like is it possible to turn all the pick ups off at the same time? Tonewise how different are they from the common or garden strat?

Any chance of ajileguitar moving to South Africa...I also want to be friends with him. ?
OK stop it now... Jeez... >☹

(Just kidding, of course. Awesome collection! Lots of eye candy!) ? Great to see some less obvious models mixed in with the usual suspects!
LOVE THEM ALL , if you ever run out of space , PM me I GOT PLENTY of space ?

The switches are simply on/off buttons turning each pickup on or off as desired, so you can have all pickups turned off.
The controls are Volume,TBX and MDX.
The TBX has a centre detent and by turning the knob clockwise you get an increase in brightness and presence. Turning it counterclockwise it works like a normal tone control.
The MDX (according to the owners manual) "gives you a variable boost of up to 6db in a specially selected frequency range". It dose give you a noticeable boost.

Tone wise, I would say its a little different to a standard Strat. I suppose the active electronics might have a bit to do with that.

The FREEFLYTE trem on this is way different to any other trems as well.

Hey Aubs1, you have a couple of very nice Gibsons (one in particular, the black LP) that is beyond awesome !!!!

? ? ? Wow!! And I thought Oz was only full of crocodile farmers and bad rugby refs! ?
Man, a few beauts in your collection for sure. Hard to pick a favourite, but the 52 Tele reissue and the 50th ann Deluxe strat..... oooh, nice. :applause:
Sjo..now that is a very drool-worthy collection ? . Especially love that 50th anniv deluxe.

Strangely, the first thing that came to mind was a profanity ?

Damn, maybe it was destiny for me to move to Queensland just to see this collection. WOW! Keep them out of the flood waters! Where in Queensland you from ajileguitar? Just moved to Toowoomba in Feb this year. Since then I have not been very active on the forum... Not very active on the guitaring either. ☹

I am not the original owner of this guitar. I bought it in the late '70s. The previous owner must have one hell of a belt buckle !!!
At the time i was looking for a player that wasn't too expensive but I have always been disapointed with damage to the back.
None of my others show any real damage
Nothing wrong with that wear on the back IMHO; you'd pay for that kind of thing on these new "reliced/road-worn" things. Yours has real scars? I like guitars that you can see have been used.

Hi Jacquesg4j, I'm between Gympie and Maryborough and high and dry above any flood water !!!
Know what you mean about not being very active on the guitaring .....Thought that was me you were talking about.

Hi Psean, you are right about that. I personally wouldn't buy one of those reliced guitars though, they can get knocked around enough when you try to look after them. Bumping into the drummers cymbals and the like have left a few small trademarks on the guitars I was using.
Yeah, I've never been a fan of them either.

I had the opportunity to buy a strat plus last year.. i let the deal slip and ever since i've just been inlove with the entire Fender plus range!! Gorgeous guitars, im guessing insurance must really add up on a collection like that!
Hi Fredddy-Bl00D, Yep the Strat Plus and Tele Plus are very nice. A shame you didn't get your Strat Plus, I'm sure you would have enjoyed it. Keep your eye open, I'm sure another one will come along. And yes, insurance is a bit of a killer.
