Hi,

First off, great forum! Awesome to have so many clued up and passionate people in one local online community.

This is just a suggestion, but often I want to go back to a topic I've posted in, and if I've already read the new posts in the thread, I need to go searching for the thread in the forums which can turn out to be rather tedious. There's no real way of getting there quickly.

Its quite useful in other forums to use a sort of 'subscription to thread feature', where you can see all the threads you've posted in (or subscribed to even), and if there are any new posts the thread titles show up bold. If there aren't any new posts, they are just regular font titles.

I really like the way the mybroadband.co.za forum does it. Makes it very easy to visit and post in the threads you're watching(subscribed to) and have posted in (which automatically subscribes you if you want).

It would be super cool to have that feature by replacing the shortcut, "Guitar Forum -> Unread Replies" with "Guitar Forum -> Subscribed Threads", or just adding that in.

Just a suggestion...

Have you tried "Unread Replies" from the drop down menu?

Yeah, thats cool and all. But say you do that and read the new "unread reply", but don't post because you don't have time or something and plan to post later....you need to try find that thread again. Thats a mission.
Something else to try: At the top (and bottom) of each thread there's a link that says "notify". You should be able to use that to get an email notification when there's new replies in a thread.
I believe what SnapcaseZA is after is a feature to easily locate threads to which you are subscribed, whether through participation in the thread or having clicked the notify link, but which have NOT received replies since you last viewed them.

I've seen this feature on other fora. It's basically a link that takes you to a page that shows you all of the threads to which you are subscribed, whether or not there have been recent posts to those threads.
OK... then there's always the search facility. Which is not quite what's being described but can still help you find the thread more quickly.

Or you can click on your name to the left of a post of yours, then click on "Show the last posts of this person" which gives you a list of your own posts to search through (even for me this is less than the total number of posts on the forum).

Yeah, thats the way I do it. But its less than ideal you have to admit.

Anyway, it was just a suggestion to maybe add to the pipeline to streamline things a bit from a user friendlyness side of things.
I know what you mean as I've struggled with that issue before. We're looking at upgrading to vBulletin (what MyBroadband.co.za runs on) in the DISTANT future. It's not something we can do in the short-term but it is in the pipeline ?
