I recently acquired a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe in a trade.. Today to be exact. The jewel light is no longer working, the guy said he tried putting a lamp in and it works sometimes (but sometimes flickers with vibration from the speaker) - He said that the exact lamp wasn't available in SA. Is this true? and is there anywhere I can get a viable alternative or preferably the real thing?

I've seen this on a couple of HRDs, including my own - try cleaning the contacts first.

Fixed. Cleaned contacts, and after a bit of trial and error with screwing in different angles it finally works now. ?

There is also the thing with the push in type - you need a bulb of a particular length. If a replacement is shorter than stock, the jewel casing cannot push it back onto the contacts properly.
