Many people seem to think that he is a one dimentional one trick pony but I think there is more to the boy than is sometimes appreciated....

Surely they can get rid of the singer now.....?

good stuff. I have a soft spot for The Edge. People are quick to forget the influence he had on guitarists and still does. He doesn't widdle and is not flash but he does play what's needed, he supports the song rather than trying to bury it...
I heard him do an acoustic version of Sunday Bloody Sunday, he handled the vocals as well...

He's a brilliant guitarist and musician imho...

He's up there with the greats. An innovator and instantly recognisable style/sound/tone. Always following the golden rule - do what the song wants. That's what counts. He's in my top 5, for sure.

I've always liked him. The kiddies write him off because he doesn't do anything flashy, but he's a very tight player who - as y'all have mentioned already - supports the songs really well. His influence is hard to calculate, but it is massive, even if you only look at his delay usage.

He also features on "It might get loud" with Jimmy Page and Jack White. Very cool dvd to watch to see 3 different approaches to the electric guitar.
