  • 2012 Line of Fender Pawn Shop models

Hmm, some tasty guitars in this new line for 2012.. The Mustang gets a new finish, and they've added a Jaguar(ish) to it as well. Awesome!

here are some pics (of all the models in my fave colors).

Mustang in 3 tone burst:

Jaguarillo in Faded Sonic Blue:

Some weird offset in Shell Pink:

and a Reverse Jag Bass in 2 tone burst:

the rest of the finishes can be seen here - http://www.fender.com/en-GB/products/pawnshop

Why are they called "Pawn shop models"? Cheaper?
because of all the modifications inspired by the 70's ?
I like the Offset Special and the Reverse Jaguar...
It literally looks like they skimmed TDPRI for designs.. I have to say that Stratazzmaster Thinline looks interesting..
The reverse jag bass is awesome, although I rather wish they hadn't slapped that huge ugly pickguard on it. I've long planned to buy a Fender bass one day, I was thinking a Jazz but I'm a total sucker for reversed strat-type headstocks, so if I do pull the trigger on a bass some time I've got to say I'll check the reverse jag bass out.

Because it would be distasteful to call them "Porn shop models"

                HAHAHA

that mustang is the same as mine, but that burst finish.. damn.. like the 'Jaguar' too, but it doesnt have all the distinctive chrome bits on it..

It looks to me like they're determined to cover every possible combination of components. Even a few with components from other companies - the pickups on that bass look like they came off a Music Man.
They're nice. If they did trawl TDPRI, they avoided some of the genuinely hideous choices that the public makes with their home-made Fenders.

? The pickguard easily removed but medium scale length? WHY??

People do all kinds of stupid-ass things with their Fenders...
