Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier roadster
Too big and too heavy ?
I was disappointed by the H&K's clean and light overdrive tones. what style of music you going to use it for?
Minirec is where it's att ?
I know of someone looking to sell his Mesa Roadking...great amp!uncle wrote: been thinking of getting one of these amps for a little while now, but was wondering if anyone out there has one or has an opinion they would ike to share? another option in the Hughes and kettner triamp MK2
If you want to contact him let me know.
I dunno how much it differs from the plain dual rec. I usually use it at home, but last week had a chance to open her up a bit at a jam session (and yes this really was a jam session, where we played together for the first time to see whats what.) and she really really proved herself. Other guy had a JVM Marshall (no disrespect to Marshall fans), but seriously the amp just sounded sooo much better. So, depending on the type of music you're in to, it WONT be a bad choice. Come to think of it, I don't think there's anything that it can't do, but its weakest point is its cleans, its not that it doesn't sound good, its just not as good as the rest of the range.
Where can you even buy these amps from? Would you import?
I've played on one once before and it was from an international touring band. Was freaken amazing! But they are waaaay overpriced here.

agreed!
Marshall Music have dropped the Mesa agency, AFAIK, but probably still have stock of some models.
What about Music Connection? I saw a couple of Mesa's there?
Maybe they picked up the agency? Or it's still old stock? They are not the fastest selling amps out there thanks to the price bracket...CostaFonix wrote: What about Music Connection? I saw a couple of Mesa's there?
Not sure if they have the agency Alan, but there was a reasonable selection last time I was there.Alan Ratcliffe wrote:Maybe they picked up the agency? Or it's still old stock? IMO you can't go wrong with a Mesa, if you can afford them... I'll be owning a few once I can.
They are not quite for everyone. I've never found one I liked enough to buy.Scorched wrote: IMO you can't go wrong with a Mesa, if you can afford them...
