Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone knows of regular places around JHB / Fourways where they host Open Mic Nights?
I've tried Tanz Cafe, but it seems that's for competitions and stuff that's a little daunting for a first-timer...
I'm a n00b and need to take my first step soon ?
Knights and Dragon on the east rand no longer have a thing going either apparently.

I saw the thread posted for the open mic nights at TJ's by deefstes.
However, I'd ultimately like to book beforehand so I can invite a bunch of mates to come support me on my first live perf.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

There's an open mic night in Weltevreden Park somewhere, and something going at Zoo Lake Bowling Club - I think on Wednesday nights.

TJ's open mic night is the LAST Thursday of the month, every month except December. So 26th of April and 31st May are the next two. Get there early and get your name down.

While the open mic slots at TJ's usually fill up every time, you can pretty much guarantee yourself a spot by just showing up a bit earlier. So you can invite your friends with confidence, as long as you don't show up last minute, you will be sure to secure a performing spot.
