Rock 'n Roll
This is a massive genre and I'm hoping it will draw out large numbers if participants. In order to try to narrow it down somewhat though, let's try to stay away from hard rock - that might make a good theme for another challenge. But for now, let's just Rock 'n Roll baby!

Whether it's swing, boogie-woogie or rockabilly, go draw your inspiration from Presley, Berry or Jerry, get your creative juices flowing and rock around (2 minutes of) the clock.

I went for 'modern rock 'n roll' for my entry.

I settled on a high gain approach on the guitar tone, I hope this doesn't then cause people to classify my entry as hard rock!

I've JUST seen this thread now, I know it's late but I quickly spent half an hour to put something together. I'm into this sort of stuff so I'd really like to submit something because I doubt this genre will come around again soon! ?

The competition is being re-run for May. So you've got 3 weeks or so to refine your entry - if you want to.

No need to post anything to the forum yet. In fact entries get PMed to renesongs. Read the rules - especially as regards categories.
