So in trying to sell my Cube I get asked a lot about reliability. Everyone seems so concerned about it breaking down.
Have any of you fellow cube owners ever experienced a problem?
I love mine cos its so amazingly portable and stupidly easy to dial in a decent tone. and I've never had a single issue with it.

I have not heard a bad thing about cubes by anyone who actually owns one. The only negatives that I have heard are from people who have never owned the thing.

My little Cube 30 has been going strong since day 1 of owning it (4yrs+) even though I managed to clamp the power lead in my car door, have it rip off and have to rewire it.

Roland in general have always been one of the more reliable brands with excellent backup locally (from T.O.M.S & Bothner's). Given a choice I always buy Roland and have had a very good track record with them. No brand is ever perfect and gear wears as well as taking punishment, but whenever I've had a problem (for whatever reason) it's always been sorted out quickly.
I've not heard of any reliability problems with any of the Cubes.

I have a cube 40XL which is the newer ones, so I haven't had it for too long, but some of my friends own older models and they have no problems with them!
This vid was released by Roland as an advertising campaign. It clearly shows their effort to make cube amps tough

I've had people call me and say, "How old is it, what if it breaks?"
I feel like saying, "Pffff. Breaks? come on!"
Although I might have found a buyer, a professed beginner. I think a cube is the perfect amp for a beginner. You want delay? turn a knob. Tremolo? Turn a knob. Phaser? Turn a knob. It's just so easy.
I remember when the volume knob broke off my GT8, I got a new one from Bothners and put it on myself. R30 repair job. Pedal is still going strong to this day

@ donovan if you deal to sell it falls thru ........ try putting up an ad at the university music schools , jazz dept cubes are well respected on all jazz sites/forums from the old 80's ones to the latest ones.(80xl)........ for their compact build and clean tone........ which is what most jazz players seek out ...... just read the jazz forums and you will get loads of recomendations for cubes ....AND NOT ONE WORD ABOUT UNRELIABILITY............ AND most jazz players prefer solid state to tube cos it stays cleaner with fatter sounding humbucker pickups found on jazz box's than a tube amp would...... so i would think you would have a market to sell it in jazz circles and i see you selling it at good price............. good luck with sale
