  • TJ's Acoustic Music Club - March 1st - featuring Squonk.

Hugh Cumming (Hugh's Fine Guitars) is the host at TJ's next week, and he has invited the one and only Squonk to perform. So, another GFSAer gets up on a stage.

I haven't seen the full line up yet, but there will also be Hugh's own band Herringbone (which includes John van Nierop) and acapella group No Principles.

Venue: Marks Park Sports Club, Judith Road, Emmarentia
Date: 1st March
Time: Music starts at 20:00, gates open at 19:30.
Admission: A piffling R25.

Drinks and light meals can be ordered.

    *Bump*

It's tomorrow night. Who is going to be there to get themselves a dose of Squonkodelia?

Bother! I realised in the week that I had misjudged my dates and will be halfway to Kruger by the time his Squonkness takes the stage. I'm really miffed. But if I can offer a word of advice for anyone else who might be considering going, here it is:

      "Go!"
Squonk is one of the great originals of GFSA. Nobody plays like him, nobody writes compositions like his.

(Ok... I'm just trying to make him blush)

It is true. Who else sings about hamsters and pasties in the same song?

I am definitely going to be there, can't miss the next part of the hamster chronicles!!

C'mon Squonk - you have to let us CT folks hear this! Sounds great. Upload for our enjoyment please! Or someone video the TJ's performance and let us have some clips!

NO! Squonk is ours. You can't have him ?
                Indeed.

Creatures that strum and squonk in JHB will rust and squeek in CT!
I've been threatening to go to one of these for some time now, so I went last week, very cool venue.
I'll try roundup some friends (and fellow GFSA'ers) to go tomorrow evening.

Huh? Last week was an open mic. So
                    1) Why didn't you try and find the guy with the crocs on? (I wasn't wearing them, but you could have tried ?)

                    2) That small room is used only for open mics. The formal shows are in a bigger room, the main room in the Marks Park complex. All perfomers on these nights are invited.
                      :roflmao:
I thought if any one would be there it would be you Bob,,, but like you said, there was not a Croc in site, but i'll make a point of introducing myself tomorrow.
