  • Boss power supply with Korg Pitchblack?

Recently bought a Korg Pitchblack (woop!), I don't mind powering it with batteries but I would prefer to power it with a power supply. I saw an ad for a Boss power supply, would I be able to use it with the Korg? Very likely a very silly question for most of you guys but I know bare minimum when it comes to pedals, thought I should check. Is a power supply just a power supply if you know what I mean?
the boss power works with 90% of pedals. So Yes, it will work with your Korg just fine ?
Thanks for the reply. Went through a lot of old topics now in the forum as well and it seems as long as the voltage is right, everything should be cool.

There's more to it than that. Polarity is an issue - is the sleeve positive or negative? Most pedals adhere to the same convention, but there are exceptions. Some Line 6 pedals require an AC input. I have, in my time, fried a more conventional pedal by dint of plugging a Line 6 adapter into it. Well they're all pedals aren't they? They all use 9 volts. Oooohhhh.... what's that funny smell?

          1 x 9 V type battery or AC adapter (9 V, 600 milliamps or greater)

          That's what the Manual states
Boss PS will work fine with a pitchblack.
Does this sound right, a new BOSS power supply retails for R250 - R350?

I saw a 2nd hand ad for a BOSS MT-2 + power supply + a few other things for R400, thinking of buying it and selling off the rest of the gear to get the power supply for, effectively, cheap.
Sounds about right and sounds doable - while the MT-2s can be difficult to move at what they are worth, You could still move it for a few hundred and end up with a cheap power supply.
Thats the plan, I'm sure a new player will want to pick up a well known pedal for R200 - R300. I bought a MT-2 when I first started from a friend as I simply wanted to be able to change from clean to distortion, sold it a long time ago. Pity I didn't keep the power supply, I didn't realize they are fairly pricey and I sold the pedal for very cheap if I remember correctly.
Turned out it is a generic adaptor (9V 300mA, made in Korea), how much are the generics worth? I still took the goods because he threw in a sweet 50cm x 35cm x 5.5cm latching metal case, I don't know why, which could make an awesome pedal case if I one day build a pedal board. One of the leads had Neutrik jacks but the other cable is a bit meh (random jacks, quite thick, Hotline audio cable (?)). Quite long though, can use it to build patch cables I guess. The MT-2 is in really good condition though, looks almost unused, might be able to sell it for a bit more than I paid if I wait it out.
