  • Youve gotta love Willie Nelson

Every so often there is a few minute coverage of last year’s Glastonbury Festival on TV.

The other afternoon they showed Willies Nelsons set, My best was his Guitar, which is named "Trigger" which produced quite nice sound (as far as Country and Western goes ) IMO of course.

Here is another die hard still kicking it at 80, when asked what’s so special about this guitar? Willie says: “It has great tone!” Most recently on his widely acclaimed album “Spirit” and on several soon to be released new songs, he has been recording with Trigger and nothing but a single microphone. The guitar simply embodies that Willie Nelson trademark sound.

Has he got 3 steel and 3 nylon on there?
I think they're ball end nylons, Willie himself has this to say (which ain't much):
GC: What strings are on Trigger?
Willie Nelson: There's a guy named Tunin' Tom that takes care of my guitar. He has a lot of different strings that he uses. I think he has one particular brand that he tries to find, but I'm not sure what they are.
So I suppose we'll have to email Tunin' Tom ?

      BTW Clutch also loves Willie:

I am after all the resident country fan...
                      Willie Nelson has a bus
And a sound guy he can kick and cuss
And a road manager to make a fuss
When he goes out on the road

And a roadie carries his guitar
And in that bus is a VCR
Well Willie deserves it, he's a big ol' star
Willie goes out on the road

So Willie goes out for months at a time
Makes a ton of money, it's a life sublime
But for me it's punishment and crime
Why do I go out on the road?

(also has a great line "You start out a prince and you end up a toad, living out on the road')
