I'm just wondering what the other bassists out there's opinion might be on the T-bird

I'm bringing in the Pro V, hopefully it will arrive this week.

Good investment?
I'd love one to be honest - never played one, but it is a relatively 'big' bass
It depends. I say a big man needs a big axe, especially if its a bass. Screw the investment value, they look super cool! So weather you can actually can play or not, you'll get the gig because you'll look uber mean on stage, and thus you have the most important aspect, the rocker image, covered. To the audience, nothing else matters.
It,s a "rockbass" and tonality wise its sound would cut nicely into the mix..IMHO.....So yes i think its a worthwhile investment.......
They're such awesome looking basses. I've heard that they're kind of unbalanced though. That the headstock drops down easily. I think that's just because it doesn't have a top horn.
My x bassist had one. After a precision bass I'll get one of those in my list.. if I was a bassist :-[

In that case just make sure you get a good strap (leather unpolished on bottom) and you'll be ok. If you feel like you have to hold up the neck while fretting it's a problem...

Yeah! Having a bass that sits comfortably makes a world of difference! I guess that a rough strap would work fine, but I'm sure there are plenty other basses that are more comfortable. That is, if it does, in fact, slip down. Still not sure if it actually does. Can anyone else who owns one of these super-rock-and-roll-basses shed some light on the sitting comfortably issue?
                  I owned one.
Most impractical bass to play but looks really cool :? ?

I played the Nikki Sixx signature Gibson model when I was overseas.
I'd rather spend the extra cash on the Gibson.. They may look the same but you can even begin to compare the two.

ok, so it took a bit longer than i thought it would to get my hands on this sucker, but it finally arrived on the weekend, and i can most assuredly say, i am as happy as a pig in s**t with it. just need to get a good strap and i'll be "a" for away!! ?

Awesome dude! Didnt realise you were getting a 5 string - enjoy it!
how much did she set you back with the case?
realy cool looking bass, would love to hear it!
That is honestly one of the coolest headstocks I've ever seen! Awesome!

with case it was US$700, to bring it over here on the plane cost another US$200, but worth every penny!!
as for the sound!!!! sings like a bird....( a thunder bird!! ?)

thanks for the positive feedback guys, it greatly appreciated, just have to now get a proper strap for it, but thats a problem for the weekend...

I also own one of these beauties. I have pro v in black. It has amazing tone! It is not unbalanced at all. The only downside to this guitar is that it is extremely heavy! But I can live with that. ?
                                a year later
Ive got the 4 sting version of yours on black. Awesome awesome bass

Better than a Gibson if you ask me, same wood (mahogany) and even more work went into the construction of the neck with the layers of wallnut and maple.

Im upgrading all the hardware on mine though:

                                Thunderbucker Pickups
                                Hipshot Tuners
                                Badbird bridge
Maybe even a bigsby tremolo (just for wow factor)

All chrome parts, people will vomit when they see it because it looks so cool.

As for the neck dive, mine did that but a just got a fat, padded leather strap and its fine now.

What style of music do you play? This bass excels at rock but I play blues and its a bit of a stretch for the lower notes because of the ultra long neck but you get used to it.

Tone wise, I havent had a problem fitting in anywhere with this thing.
