Apparantly two BIG British classic rock bands are heading our way and the announcement will be made tomorrow...
Can anyone guess who they'll be or have any inside information?
Queen (with Paul Rogers) maybe?
    Not such a big secret.

It's the Beatles and Led Zeppelin...

Slade I can really enjoy - after a couple of pints.
        Dire Straits.

About a month ago I was chatting with Terence Reis at TOMS, he told me he's in the process of organising an SA tour.
Not sure if this is it, but maybe.

Knopfler maybe, but Dire Straits haven't been together since '95.

Well Terrence Reis plays for "The Straits" who are built around original Dire Straits keyboardist Alan Clarke and some "on tour" band members. They've been touring in Europe with Reis himself and Phil Palmer on guitars.

It seems they called themselves "The Straits" out of respect for the original band rather than because of law suits.

                    Good stuff Singe!

I was there in the early 70's when Slade(and the BCR ? burst on the scene :-[

SABC didn't play their early stuff, but I used to get all the magazines sent out by family from the UK, and they were my first Band that I followed so I suppose I am a bit more biased. They actually had quite a good thing going, some great songwriting and IMHO, Noddy Holder has a great voice that I am sure inspired many rock and metal acts that came after them. I am sure Quite Riot did a cover of one of their songs in the 80's.

And the spelling was incredible ?, "Cum on feel the noize"

They also produced a brilliant live Album "Slade Alive" where they do an excellent version of "Born to be Wild"

A whole lot more to Slade than the Glam Rock genre suggests
It's Moody Blues and 10cc folks. Tickets on sale from today. (I've heard of the Moody Blues before, but not 10cc....)

You must have heard "Dreadlock Holiday", 10cc's biggest hit. Others you may know, but not know that they're by 10cc: "I'm Not In Love", "I'm Mandy, Fly Me", "The Things We Do For Love".

The 10cc that's been touring for the last couple of years is far from the whole enchilada. No Eric Stewart! The only original member is Graham Gouldman who wrote a string of big hits in the 60s before joining 10cc. These included "For Your Love", "No Milk Today", "Heart Full of Soul" and "Look Through Any Window".

The Question is which Moody Blues.

10CC would be great if it was the original bunch of Gouldman, Stewart, Godley and Creme. They did some good albums is the 70's , "How Dare You' which had one of my favourite songs of all time "I'm Mandy Fly me"

Chris, you might have heard "Dreadlock Holiday" - "I dont like Cricket, I love it..."

Yeah. Noddy's voice is like an extreme version of John Lennon. Pure rock 'n roll. My folks were living in the UK in '71. My Dad had a slade album on an old tape reel that I used to listen to as a kid. Then I heard Oasis do "Cum on feel the noize" on a rebroadcast of TOP here in the '90s. I thought, "Damn. Oasis are actually really good. That song is amazing." I don't know when I figured out it was Slade, but I developed a new appreciation. Most people don't know them here but in the UK they're a perennial favourite. Slade's Xmas song is definitely preferable in my books to "Jingle bell rock," and 'effing Bony M.
Yeah I mentioned Slade merely to be facetious. They don't belong grouped with BCR - In my mind they are rather grouped with Nazareth - good, solid, no nonsense rock.

Noddy's still milking the Christmas thing and is quite the character...
