How do you guys rate them?
I really enjoy them, has a bit of humour, angst, and some brilliant melody.
I still chuckle when I listen to "Chop Suey" and "BYOB", brilliant songs.

I like their older stuff... hypnotize and memorize got boring for me... still some good tracks, but the sound got kinda repetetive

I must agree with Lethe, their older stuff had a certain uniqueness to it..........

P.S. When Daron Malakian started doing major vocal parts, it just ruined the whole band!!!

if u asked me 2 months ago i would hav stood testament to their earlier songs being WAY better: suite pee, spiders, toxicity, arials etc
HOWEVER, i put the hypnotize album in my car said 2 months back, and my god am i addicted to it! very intricately done. and u do need to listen to the album as a whole coz it doesnt really make sense to me as singles.

I love Steal This Album ? brilliant outtake collection.
All their albums are excellent, if you take them as they are. There's not one album that does not justify itself on it's own, without the "SOAD fame" attached to it, and that's one of the things that makes SOAD so awesome. There's no "bad album (or even mediocre album)"
Getting nostalgic here. They need to join up again... Malakian's good, but his side project doesn't even touch SOAD. ?

I felt that although their new stuff had some great songs, as an album I couldnt just listen to the whole thing from start to finish which probably implies a lack of variation in sound. but they still good. not the best but still something I really enjoy everytime I hear them.
My one big problem is that Serj's new stuff sounds pretty much exactly like what SOADs last albums did. whats the point of splitting a band if you dont change your style after you've left them?

I used to like them back in high school with their first and second album. But I lost interest around the middle of 2004 because...actually lol I haven't no clue why.
I think one day I just didn't find a need to get the 3rd album when it came out ?

I don't rate them.I'm not into the protesting type of thing...Brilliant musicianship though.I hate to admit that I used to listen to them back in high school.Different strokes for different folks,they have a helluva lot of fans,I'm just not one of them.
