Wow thank you. I am actually getting into my walking lines on guitar. So thats next step. I can't even think about doing melody as well, so 10 hats off to you for doing all 3, and percussion. If ever you record your stuff on an album, I'd love to hear/get a copy.Keira WitherKay wrote: way cool .........walking jazz bass has a special place in my heart ....i initially back when dinasours roamed the earth studied upright jazz bass.......now just play that line on your guitar while you play the chords and melody of "have you met miss jones" and you styling ?
great work as always adrian ... you definitely a young jazz muso to watch in the future .........
Dude, I read your blog. You are awesome and an inspiration. Jazz in 6 months is a great idea. Sharing your journey is very generous.Adrian Rogowski wrote:Wow thank you. Thanks. Yes, sustain notes is definitnely something I will look at. Perhaps the standard was too fast for me. Another jazz bass friend of mine said I got the technique and notes down, but need to work on my swing feel and tone. I agree with him too. Although tone was the last of my concern ?Jack Flash Jr wrote: Very cool! Singe always says our jazz numbers give the bassist something to do... hell, yeah fun! I tend to let each note ring a little more so they flow into each other, I suppose it's less like upright/flatwounds which have less sustain but I like the smooth vibe. You've got good rockabilly potential too ?
Post a video. I'd love to hear some of your lines. I love walking bass lines. If it wern't for me playing guitar, I probably would have become a full time bassistJack Flash Jr wrote: Once you got that swing it's addictive ?
I still got a long way to go... I dig in too much, clack all over the place when I get excited and tend to fall back on standard lines too easily...
There's more clips of me on guitar than bass ? but maybe we'll get some cellphone footage of originals this weekend ?Adrian Rogowski wrote:Post a video. I'd love to hear some of your lines.
