I can buy a jackson js 30 kv for R1800 used... it looks like its in a perfect condition with stock setup. is it a good buy?
Sounds like a good price. A bought a JS30 RR new about 4 years ago and it was just under R4000 if I remember correctly.
I have a few hours to decide... So if u guys get pix of a nice black V before the end of the day then I bought it :?
Do you have any other guitars? Cos remember, if you're not used to it, a V shaped guitar is quite a hack to play! It doesn't make for easy seated playing.

Look, it's all about style. I sit VERY comfortably with my V propped up on my upper thigh with the neck in an almost vertical position. In fact I find it more comfortable sitting with the V than I do with the explorer or the Talman for that matter. it all boils down to taste of course!
Well done on the aquisition, you did well there!
I put on some new strings since I took these pix... It sounds awesome! Its got a good overdrive tone, excellent for metal!
you sound 'psyx'ed. and that's all that matters! enjoy!

Ya that's true that it boils down to style and what-not.. wasn't arguing that point. I was just pointing out that if you're buying your first electric I personally wouldn't get a V shaped guitar - unless you're looking for extra motivation to learn how to play standing up quicker. My Randy Rhoads was horrible off balance, I don't know what the King V is like but the headstock on my Randy Rhoads would point straight down at the floor.. so I spent more time holding the neck up (while playing standing) and finding a comfortable way to play (seated) than actually improving my skills. That was half the reason why I sold it.

However, a few years down the line, I wouldn't object to gettting a V guitar. They look amazing, as does this King V! ?
well... It's my second electric and I have been playing for quite a while. The V shape is something to get used to but it's not a problem at the moment...
I think it was a good pick for a second electric.

But thanks for the heads up!! 8)

I'm sure you'll be happy with it. The best thing about my Jackson was that it had the fastest dam neck ever... felt like my fingers were ice skating over the fretboard when compared to my epiphone which felt like wading through treacle.
Yeah... I've noticed! Fast playing is a breeze on my Jackson! I read something about Jackson guitars having a compound fretboard radius for easier playing...
apparently its 12” to 16” Compound Radius (304.8 mm to 406.4 mm)
I'm not sure how big a difference it makes though...
