okay, so I have a Music man stingray5 and a USA P bass 68 RI...
Had a look at a warwick thum bo yesterday (german model)....would it make sense to sell either of the other 2 the get this bass???
I recon it's more the "want" than "need" issue here...
I love the Thumb, but it's a very specific bass: brighter sounding and percussive; shaped to wear very high. In essence it's a slap bass (I know it does more than that and it depends on the player, but that's what it was designed for). Nice though it is, I wouldn't replace either a P-Bass or a 'Ray unless I wasn't playing one of them and was sure that I would play the Thumb. And I certainly wouldn't get rid of both.
I wouldn't. You have two great basses there. If you like Warwicks then maybe, but I don't. Precision and Stingray - the ultimate, in my opinion.
mmm great, thanks guys... like I said..it was more the itch of "want"..hehe
love the passive P bass and also the ray...I have'nt tried the thumb...but also did not want to..just incase hehe

yea, the warwick's body did look kinda small, makes sense now that it should sit high...
The thumb body is also curved, made to sit comfortably on your chest (Although I have heard reports that it works equally well on beer boeps ?).
No. No. No. For all the reasons above. I don't think anyone has ever fallen in long term love with a Warwick... short term lust maybe, but you'l regret leaving your long term partners ?

Tell that to Rob Stemmet. ?

As this man proves here, you should have no problems doing some crazy slap on a Stingray so rather just stick to the beauties you have ?

hehe cool, thanks guys, after this weekend I think I shal stick with what I got!
The Ray has the punch.... but the P bass has that vibe.... just need stronger amp now.... ?

I have a German Thumb 6 with Basslines (Seymour Duncan) pickups and recently got the Korean Pro Series Streamer LX6 with MEC pickups. The difference? The Thumb is very neck heavy but super tight sounding... lots of real exotic woods used all round. First quite uncomfortable until you get used to it. It is a super slapper but even for normal use it is outstanding. I love the famous Warwick growl! The Streamer again is perfectly balanced and sounds warmer with a little less growl. Sound super with fingers and slapped. Probably a better or rather more versatile and certainly cheaper all round bass.
