How good are the two Manchester teams looking? I know its early days, but I reckon the only team to challenge them for the title will be Chelsea. Being a United fan I am really enjoying the start to the season - four games, none of which were the easiest on paper and we have scored 18 goals already (Rooney has scored more than every other Premiership team apart from City so far ?). Its a pity that both Welbeck and Cleverley, products of the youth system have sustained injuries just when they're getting a run in the team, but Smalling has been a revlation at right back and Jones is the future captain of the club, possibly also England. Benfica midweek and Chelsea on Sunday... the big games just keep on coming!

Never really liked the concept of 3 - 6 having a playoff. I mean you've had a whole season of league games, surely after that your league position is the best measure of whether or not a team should be promoted. Throwing this random playoff story into the mix is just a way of making the FA more money I guess.

I agree Arnie, and whoever finishes 3rd will be so far ahead of the others in points. The Hammers won 6-0 and with the saints losing 1-3, a lot of goal difference was made up, interesting finish.

United could also lose today and there could still be a twist...

The Villa match was the deciding match, United have all but won the League title for the 20th time. Only 12 points left, I can't see City catching up?

Can you believe that the Baggies nicked all 3 points off Liverpool at Anfield ? It's the Albion's first win at Anfield for 45 years. Must be sweet for Roy Hodgson. I'm so looking forward to being at the Hawthorns again for next Saturday's home game against the Villa. ?

Here's my prediction,

City ot beat United 2-1 with a goal in the 88th minute by lescott ( who is offside, and the ball comes off his hand)..
City then dispatch newcastle and draw with QPR ( pressure gets to them and they choke)

No worries though as United lose in the last game too 8)

Liverpool (aishame), lose at fulham and end up in 12th place..

And sheffield united go another season minus top flight football..

And as for Real.. Good win, but shame on you for all the time wasting antics.. Do not expect that from a club with that reputation. Just shows how much Barca really scare them..

People forget that United have beaten City twice this season - in the Charity Shield and then in the FA Cup at the Etihad - so they can do it. Im just worried about Tevez - he'll be trying to prove a point. And I still think that the Newcastle game will be pivotal.

And yip, that Real win was marred by the time wasting - but actually glad that they won. Ronaldo is still peculiar to me - obviously still like him because of the United link, but I actually feel sorry for the guy. Admittedly he is right up there with the greatest ever, but he tries so damn hard to be the best. Messi, on the other hand, just does what he does. Did see him a bit flusterred for the first time against Real though.

I still think that United will clinch it, mentally they are stronger.

Just a pity that Arsenal and Chelsea aren't pushing the Manchesters a bit more. To me a good season is when anyone in the top 4 can win with a couple of games to go.

My team, Derby County (Don't laugh, we do hold some serious premiership records) won the championship in 71/72 and were 3rd untill the last day, and both Liverpool and Leeds lost their last game and Derby won it. They weren't even prepared for this as Liverpool and Leeds were so strong in those days, Derby had to return from a holiday in Spain!

Unfortunately I dont think I'll ever forget that result... ??? But all the talk so far has been of that, not United's victories - it was actually the FA Cup win, incidentally the same game Scholes returned in, that started United's great run

I think had Wilshere been fit this season Arsenal may have been a bit closer to the top 2. Unfortunately for the Gunners Ramsey is just not showing the ability that everyone was hoping he had, could be from the broken leg, dunno. Losing Cesc, Samir and Wilshere, i.e. your best 3 midfielders, is likely to hurt most teams.

On a positive note, signing Arteta has been a massive score for Arsenal, he's been really good. Koscielny also looks like he could be a great defender.

Arsenal are most probably the most entertaining team in the Premiership, and Wenger has done well with the youth policy, and not spending millions like some other clubs in the top 6. Just a pity these days that money is the controlling factor.

I nearly liked Ronaldo despite the United link ... but ... he dives.
Messi is just the real deal.

Must say.. Messi was quite impotent against Real on Sat. Was actually weird to see him play like that. Ronaldo on the other hand is very up and down in terms of how much of a knock he'll take. Some games I can't help but be thrilled with how he gets the job done, othertimes I'm embarrassed to call myself a RM fan (Well that or when Di Maria or Callejon are in).

I personally think Messi dives/plays for fouls as much, or more than Ronaldo, but rarely as theatrically.

I only really watch RM or Barca matches, ocassionally will watch Arsenal or Tottenham too.
