Let's see if we can entice more participation with this one: DO WHATEVER YOU WANT! For this challenge, in the hope of drawing out as much participation as possible, we're going to bend every rule we can think of. You really get to do whatever you want. 1. Only original songs, no covers. Says who? If you want to record that solo over the backtrack you've been practicing for the last year and a half, then that's what we want to hear. Make it original or make it clichéd but do whatever you want! 2. Duration must be no longer than a minute. No ways! If you want to record a full movie soundtrack, go for it. Make it long or make it short but do whatever you want! 3. Only four instruments... What? Why? Never! If you want to build a backtrack resembling the full Johannesburg Philarmonic then so be it. Make it grandiose or make it simple but, that's right, you guessed it... do whatever you want! So for this month's challenge and this month only, you get to record anything that tickles your fancy. No specific theme, no restrictions, no reason not to take part. Here's hoping that this will draw the PeteM's with their fingerstyle fancies, the Seventhsons with their maelstromic metal melees, the Squonks with their airy acoustic acrobatics and the Viccy's with their nifty nylon nimbleness back out of the woodwork. +1. I managed to sell my services as a jingle and station-break music writer to a radio station with a CD culled mostly from old competition entries.

I really want to enter, but my recording skills aren't that great... My playing's not too bad, I just lack the skills to make some decent drum tracks, and I have no bass guitar.

So this month it's legal to enter a cover of a song? Or only originals?

"Whatever you like", been meaning to give Keira's lovely CG170 I bought last month a serious run on the recording side, but the four letter word (w**k, lol) stole my attention.

I'll have something by 25th, I'll probably surprise myself with a acoustic slayer medley ?

I'm about ~~85%~~ (I'm going to attempt the bass as well, haven't even started that yet, doh) 65% done with my entry, just gotta fine tune my second solo and polish the rythym sections. It's a cover, won't say which but it's turning out well ?

AHHHHHHH ... I tracked some guitar yesterday for a friend's demo... And since there are no rules, and I did write all the guitar parts, I might just as well enter that... If I can find it on time!

My main computer has gone down and have to go through a rebuild, so I will not be able to enter this time. Pity... would have been a good one.
