Hey guys,
So I have the option of grabbing a DD20 for a reasonable price, but naturally it is more expensive than the DD3.
In terms of sound quality and tone, is it worth spending the extra on the DD20, or is the DD3 just as good.
It's clear that the DD20 has more to offer in terms of delay types etc, but I am quite concerned with the tone more than the features at this point in time
Any wise words?

I had both. Honestly, I don't know what styles you want to play with the delay, but the DD3 has no option of tap tempo, not even adding an external switch. If you are new to delays, trust me when I say that tap tempo is SOOO important! ... But since you are not interested by features and worry about the tone...
The tone from both were very similar (I didn't note a difference to be honest). But when looking at a delay you should really look at more than just tone in my humble opinion. The DD-20 lets you add the occasional Modulation to your tone which made me SOOO glad I bought the DD-20. So yes you can get different tone from the 20 which means better tone in some instances.

Unless your drummer is literally a machine, +1 for tap for any live scenario

DD20 all the way!!
DD20 will be around a R800 more (R1200 vs R2000 new).
But SO many more features + tap tempo + presets.
