Take any Jazz standard and jazz it down. In other words, record it in any style but jazz. You can literally take any song that is known as a Jazz song and mangle it to suit your style.

GREAT TOPIC. I have so many ideas already.
I really hope people will actually do something, its seems as if the GFSA community has become lazy again! And yes I say Lazy cause I also have like 1000 other things I should be doing, but I still make time for this fun and interactive aspect of the site. Keep it alive people, common!

This sounds like fun! I'll try and get something down before the end of August.
I randomly picked one, Tea for Two, and there is no way in hell I'd be able to play it cleanly that fast on the guitar. Really cool though!

So how you guys getting along with this one? I tried picking a theme that would leave lots of options but now that I've started recording it seems my best attempts are still a bit bland. At least now I have something to submit if I can't come up with something better.

I feel like that guy who has been painting the floor and is now stuck in the corner of the room. I started off with something complicated and interesting, but ended up with something simple and boring (but more recognizable towards the original tune) Haven't recorded more that 12 seconds of it yet, I'm just sitting with the main riff for now. This is where some guitar theory would probably come in handy help to move things along! ?
