Recently got Sonic Research Turbo Tuner ST-200
Its got to be the best Tuner in a stompbox in the world!
Why manufactures would still be making crappy tuners when technology exists for tuner perfection?
(its a nice small stomp - smaller than a normal boss single stomp)
Its got a whole host of custom features - can tune guitars with any amount of strings or odd tunings
I can remember when I started playing guitar (was a long time ago) telling myself to just buy an expensive tuner and all my problems would be solved
I'd eye out the "nice" "top of the range" boss needle tuner's for around R800 , and dream about how nice they would be
In retrospect I wasn't really missing out not having one.
Only strobe tuners are worth owning - real strobe , not needle tuner shown as a strobe (which some manufacturers do)
Needle tuners (old skool analog or digital needle) average out a series of waveforms to get a reading , which is why needle tuners are so slow & wonky!
Strobe is an instant & direct representation of the input against a reference
(my descriptions may not be 100% correct there - anyone?)
The Turbo Tuner ST-200 is fast - you can play scales and it picks up each note - not shred fast obviously.
I have never setup intonation on a guitar so easily and so accurately
THERE IS NO WAIT FOR THE NEEDLE TO STOP JUMPING AROUND
response is instant and 100% accurate
This is a Tool not a Toy!!
As usual the small guys make the best stuff : Sonic Research , Allesandro etc
Anyone else use these?
