as if 6 strings aint enough ! ?
Now that's not terrible. A new Gibson guitar that doesn't suck. What a nice change ?
way cool........stylish is what i'd say

and what really does it for me is that the tuners are atill 6 aside with the extra one slap in the point of the headstock and it looks awesome .perfect symetry ...... sometimes just a little detail like that can win me over..but hey i think it'd be cool playing 7 string on a V way cool .......a good balance of vintage vibe and modern technique

      excellent design
I agree Keira, I'm also very much into symmetry and the folks at Gibson got it so right this time. ? (again heheh)
Looking at it again, I haven't changed my opinion - it's one of the best new Vs since the originals. But they should have put an ebony board on it. That's the only thing I could think to change. Marvelous intuition seeing how you could use the steinberger tuners to turn the V into a 7 without messing with the headstock.

Maybe they've finally stopped making the mad director the sole design consultant.

            No it's really not...

I have to admit though I think that V is kinda impractical as a 7 string, I mean normal issues with the flying V shape aside, Gibson tend to make things in a 24,75" scale (Their website conveniently doesn't mention scale) - This really doesn't work very well for 7 strings, add to that the mahogany body and I rate this guitar will probably be way muddy in the low end.
you're right Singe. I like that Gibson are getting a bit more creative lately, seems like they're pulling out all the stops, its good to see,

It's nice that they went for an emg 707 and an 81-7...most companies just put on 707's! Reckon that combo may make for quite a tight bass response despite the scale length, Chad.
