Guitar Tuner pedals..?? which one??

StephenG · 2011-04-13T12:34:59+00:00

I am thinking of getting a tuner pedal. I am hoping it would be a bit harder to misplace than the current headstock tuners that I cant find... Anything I need to know? look out for?? are they all pretty much the same or do each brand have their own pro's and cons?? will appreciate being steered down the right path on this one.. thanks

StephenG wrote A price i found is thus :

List Price R 2,261.00
Your price R 1,809.00

Not what you pay in real life though.

It really helped once to go buy a R100k sound system for my cousin's church last year... Discount comes without asking now!

Korg Pitchblack is a great tuner. I used one for a while and recently upgraded to the Pitchblack Plus. Very happy with both.

Korg Pitchblack is sexy. Definitlly one of my prided babies

But. The TC does look groovy too, I mean you can tell all the strings that are out in one go, but then again you can still only tune one string at a time ?

I've pitched in in another thread on this but I have a strong suspicion that the Pitchblack will be as iconic as the TS-9 a few years down the line, if it isn't already...

I've used a BOSS TU-2 for years. Cannot fault this at all. Tried and tested build quality.. never let me down.

I see its been updated to TU-3 now.

HIGHLY recommended. I'm sure it's an industry standard

They know the PB will not sell now that there are polytunes?

There was a member recently who wanted to trade his polytune for a pitchblack - I wanted to enquire as to why but I didn't think that that was a suitable question to ask in a classified thread...

It was because he could not see his pedal on stage apparently!

Finally got my Korg Pitchblack today. I spent months using Jack's and found that surprisingly it's the most fun pedal of any kind I've ever used. Reading in almost all conditions is really easy. It's small, rugged. Generally awesome. I tried the TC Polytune a while back and found it slow and buggy. Sad because the concept seemed so great.

But the pitchblack just delivers and costs almost nothing. A lot less than half of the ludicrous quote that someone found on the net.

Pitchblack FTW.

I have the Korg PB and it works fine on my Electrics>

@ Singe , have a go on an Electric Acoustic if you have one and see if it's lekker? Mine is not that accurate ???

Finally... now I can take the condom off mine ?
