Anybody rememberthe Cape Town duo Cabins In The Forest? I remember enjoying the lack of inhibition in their performances (they kept their clothes on, in case you were wondering). They weren't clones, but there was something there that reminded me of the Incredible String Band, especially the soaring vocal lines and the unusual structures of the songs.
Anyhoo... that duo is dissolved now, but one half, Gary Thomas, has been busy playing, writing, touring, recording.
I got two CDs this weekend - a gift from my ever generous brother (shot boetie!). They're pretty interesting, touches of that CITF sound can be discerned (not surprising as he was half of that band).
But I ramble....
