A question about the bridge tensioners - are that many springs normal? Doesn't it suck the sustain out of the guitar?

Hendrix, Clapton, Mayer all use 5 springs on the trem. It makes it more like a hardtail guitar, while using the trem may be slightly stiffer, it increases the sustain and to me the strat has a better tone.

My Strats are MIA Standards, from left to right:

My White Strat, '94 will stay absolutely stock, with only one addition, a Hipshot Tremsetter.

"Candy" will get pimped, already has Graphtec saddles, Fender De Luxe locking tuners and of course, Kinman Woodstock Plus Pups. Strat tone ++,

My Burst ......... looked like an orphan in the shop, fell in love, and that's it. May or may not pimp it. Has Fender De Luxe Locking tuners fitted.

Fender MIA '62 RI Fiesta red with rosewood fretboard ......had it only briefly...should not have sold it...I want it back !
