my personal guitar hero is still tele meister Jim Campilongo ........ i only discovered him about a year ago and he continues 12 months later to wow me....... and of course inspire me ........ but i never knew of him before i bumped into a you tube video .......... yet he endorses princeton amps for fender and has his own "Campilongo telecaster signature model by fender custom shop selling at $4500 a piece and only a limited edition of 50 made " so he has his fan club ..and i guess he's NOT just anybody and has to be well rated , if not well known if he gets Fender custom shop to make a run of his guitar to his spec............ but he's just not on with mainstream market ...... yet he has 8 instrumental cd's out ......... he tours the world performing and does sessions for almost everybody in new york .....works with nora jones in her side project "The little willies" ...and the telecaster forum online see him as a total tele meister ........ yet until last year i never heard of the dude......
anyway he's now on the radar for me and has done a lot to get me to shift from being purely acoustic to going back to electric again ......as i had no desire to play electric like steve vai or most of the other guitar hero's ....but once i heard his style i was drawn back into wanting to play electric ..so his influence has been huge on me ........ not bad for someone i never even heard of last year this time
anyway if you not checked him out yet listen to him....... what this man can do with a tele and a simple single channel amp is masterful and yes a lot more experimental than most would maybe like but i tend to love music thats not mainstream anyway

What a guitar player! A couple of hundred bucks for an amp and a guitar and an incalculable fortune in skill, tone and taste! IMO this is what a Telecaster challenges you to do - put all of the digital effects etc aside and let that guitar tempt, tease and teach you all the way to the Crossroads and back, victorious!
