well, despite a comment i made in another thread a while back, i must admit to having liked their stuff too. and i thought her vocals were sharp, cut-through type stuff. great pop. saw them last time they were out here, but i don't think i'd make a special trip again. maybe i'll look for look sharp on itunes though, my kids might enjoy it... ?

Marie Fredriksson was very ill indeed. Brain tumor IIRC. That kept her out of action for some time. I think this current tour is like a reunion for them.

Some years ago I was listening to some radio station blabbering, and the dj dropped an interesting little factoid. Apparently Roxette had cancelled the polynesian leg of one of their world tours, because nobody had told the organisers that 'Roxette' means 'Constipation' in many of the local dialects. ?

Rather unfortunate. Sortof like the Mitsubishi Pajero.

yeah a fabulous band that play great pop songs....think that one cd of theirs had a string of hits...... all at no 1 incredible track record ....... they prob as close to the "perfect" pop band that one can get .anyway i heard a rumour tickets were already sold out of am i mistaken it was just heresay .......from somebody here at sun city ..... seems they booked only 2 shows here cos they thought no one woud be keen to see em ........ well if i can i will go ..... i'm a sucker for a well written pop song

Blasphemy!

Roxette were good as pop acts go, but they always seemed to me to be looking back over their shoulders at Abba. Abba had great pop songs, hooks up the wazoo, TWO top notch singers and magical productions. I always thought that Abba were Roxette's model and target.

Sartorially speaking, of course, it's Roxette all the way, though that may be damning with faint praise.

I never knew that,,, I have the utmost respect for artists that bounce back after an illness (including artists like Cindy Alter, Peter Green, Kylie Minogue,,,,),,,,so I hope Roxette do indeed have sellout concerts,,,,
