  • Yoav on Later with Jools Holland

Last night I watched a PVR'ed episode of Later with Jools Holland (not sure exactly when it was recorded but in the last week or so) in which Yoav featured.

You go you Souf Effriken boytjie! Unfortunately he performed only one song, "Club Thing" which I enjoyed for its experimental nature. Cool stuff.

Now I don't know Yoav well but I do recall hearing a song of his air on radio a few years back which I loved and have been unable to find since. The song was called "Shiver" if I'm not mistaken and I also recall that he went by the name of Yoav Sadan.

In a moment of dofness I deleted the episode but I'd have liked to go over it again actually. Martha Wainwright also performed and I thought that I saw Jim Campilongo in her band playing the Telecaster. Was I imagining it or could someone confirm?
Well I have zero idea who Jim Campilongo is, but a quick google shows that he and Martha Wainwright have worked together. So that could well be who you saw.

Martha is the daughter of Loudon Wainwright III and Kate McGarrigle and little sister to Rufus Wainwright.

Aha, so maybe it was. Until fairly recently I have not known of Jim Campilongo either but I "discovered" him on Youtube where he reviewed the new Fender Princeton Reverb amp and I love his Telecaster tone and he's got a pretty unique style. There are loads of videos of him on Youtube and and they're all great.

Here is the video that I referred to: (you know what the funny thing is? I just looked at it again and listen to what he says at 1:07 - "I play with...")

So does anyone know the song "Shiver" by Yoav Sadan and where I can get a hold of it?
He (Yoav) was on 5FM last week I belive, playing a few songs in the studio. I did miss it though. He's been mentioned in Guitarist magazine as well.
