I'd like to put the spot light on Friedman for a while. Many people only see him as a metal-god and while his achievements in that regard are nothing to scoff at, the man is a demo-god.

I watched a video a few months back when he talks about improvising using different modes for each chord and using notes that don't fit in to help add spice to your solos. He's very methodical and he ALWAYS knows exactly what he's doing and what he's doing is USUALLY more than people realise.

He uses chord theory, modal theory and more to really hook you, drop you, and then hook you again.

Listen to Corazon De Santiago for an awesome ballad from this living legend.

    Thanks for the heads up.

Marty is am awesome player. I would very much love to get some of his music. I don't get any of his stuff fro free at eMusic. I can only find Meditation From Thais and the Music for Speeding album, but none amongst the free downloads. This guy is good though and I think it is worth using some of my credits to get some of his songs.
That's strange! I downloaded his album using my free credits.

The idea is that you get x credits when you sign up and then you use those credits to download ANY music from eMusic.com.

Won't you please double check and let me know. I feel a bit cheated if they only allow certain songs to be free >☹
If it does not say "Free track" then the download will reduce your remaining credits by 1. The 50 credits that you got when you signed up will cout down to zero as you dowload tracks. Next month you will start again with 30 credits (or whatever you signed up for). When you download a free track it will not reduce your remaining credits. The free tracks can be found by goig to "Browse" tab and then select the "Free tracks" option on the 2nd column, last item. There are some awesome music there amongst the free tracks.

PS. I downloaded Corazon De Santiago just now (5 minutes ago) and it did reduce my credits.
I must say, I'm very confused but maybe they changed their systems :/

            Nice site otherwise, hey?

They don't have much popular stuff, but they have stuff from the likes of "Favored Nations" (Vai's label, scuse spelling) and plenty of decent guitar music.

If you're into African music, search for "Virtuoses". These guys are great African guitarists. I love their stuff!
Yeah, eMusic is great. I've been a member a while. I love classical and they have the full Naxos library. I will check out Virtuoses. Thanks for the pointers.
                You're welcome ?

Dunno if you know / are interested, but they have lots of Eric Johnson, Andy Timmons, Steve Vai, Judas Priest, Buckethead (can't say I'm a fan) & Yngwie on there as well.
Thanks. I got the Yngwie concerto album from them and some of the favoured nations stuff. BTW, I just downloaded the Virtuoses album and it is really top class. Thanks ? ?
                    You're very welcome ?

By the way, another good album is "The Very Best of Smooth Jazz Guitar". Very nice and relaxing.

Also, "Baroque Guitar Quartets: Music of Handel, JS Bach, Corelli, Purcell and Vivaldi" is good!
