  • Go for it kap it stukkend ? It takes guts to get out there.
    • Thanks Adrian i was becoming despondent as i had not one vote as i work more on the composition than on my production skills but have had some great feedback from Dr Phil such as on eq, Yes i used guitar pro as i was in a rush .
The great thing is production can be learn t thanks for all the feedback guys. The hard thing is putting yourself out there but i always remember i love music and music is subjective,(not everyone will like your style but remain true to yourself and have fun ? Whats the June challenge.
      • you can also export drums on guitar pro or tux guitar( free) and import into recording software cubase, reaper etc and then once you have your sound export as wav file to use convert to audio plugins, there many ways to scin a cat ?
        • I got mesa in the US and use it with a step down transformer , worth it at half the price and i think they not bringing mesa amps in to country.
          • yes i use for jazz i have options , with jem i use boss ac simulater and reverb and delay tc electronics pedals and chorus and eq added on from boss gt-10 , i am still working on my sound currently this sound has worked for gigs.another alternative is court accoustic( nylon) string with acoustic boss gt-10 gives nice latin american sound .Nice thing is i have always loved valve warm sound and i use to have two marshall amps but lost them due to unfoseen circumstances.
            • I agree with you how much longer must we take this, I had a gig for 9 months in a hotel and without notice the hotel just said there is no budget and ended it, if i didn't have a safety net i would be on the street . One should always try and get something in writing if you can, because people are fickle and often see musicians are not seen as businessmen .
              • I agree too many musos have sold themselves short and i wish all musos could get together and go on strike, i wonder what would happen. Maybe hire a huge stadium and have a jam out with media coverage like some political party. We could be the music party ?
                • Thats a winner , loved it , at first i thought it was satire and when you go to yosmite park you hooked and it would be a great advert, is that like death metal , i was thinking it is great having the lyrics in front on screen because often with this genre for me it is hard to decipher lyrics. ?
                  • i think your song is great , and keep your unique style and be confident in it , check voice levels and test before you record
because there is what is called clipping where voice goes above a threshold, however you can adjust with audio software like cubase by normalising ( a function in cubase can help). ?

                    • Great song , what using for your clean guitar parts, are using artificial harmonics?
                      • Great song Frankly , little bit too much delay half way through otherwise great , i think delay is great but shouldn't be noticeable ie change heard easily like moving the controls quickly instead of gradually, that's just my 2 cents worth.
                        • Holly and Page sound like latin and Jazz ,is that world music ?, however i like Walsh.
                          • Springsteen is the best in the west...........!!!
                            • My name is Gavin Taitz and I'm an alcoholic, sorry i meant newbie and looking forward to connecting all kinds of musos who just love music, my gear includes 2 Jem guitars and 2 cort guitars and a mesa boogie transatlantic amp. I enjoy all styles of music even metal and even though i play jazz and latin American styles of music to make money. I admire metal players chops and speed mechanics and dropped tunings are really cool. 8)
                              • R1000/hour plus a meal ,drink and accommodation, make sure you get it in writing , negotiate if a 6 month contract stability is key.
                                • One thing i do is play things that are challenging this may sound crazy but after time even if you may struggle you will see improvement over time if you stay with it , there are also different areas of music , technique, composing (theory) improvising or just learning a new song. I try find my weakest area and build it into a strength , for example improvising and theory are my strengths and technique has been a weak area and have been focusing on practicing difficult things like flight of the bumble bee for right hand technique.

Probably not the most interesting topic to everyone, but I'd like to hear what people think of the Ibanez MTM range guitars. All opinions on Slipknot and Mick Thompson aside; this is purely about the guitars. What do you think? If you own one, what has your experience been? I don't own one of them, but I definitely hope to acquire one sometime in the future.

                                    Thanks and regards!

I have a Jem seafoam green, but have full confidence in ibanez
