  • Is it worth the hype... yup.

I love my Kemper, does everything I need. Guitar and bass.
I use it through a 500w powered 15" speaker that JP is building me ?

I was a gear whore before getting a Kemper and I dont see me buying another guitar or bass amp ever again.

Real valve tone? Good enough for me and for people at gigs, I can finally play over the number 1 volume. Lightweight - no more lugging around a Mesa or EVH for me. No more worries of valves dying mid show or dodgy power taking out the sensitive electronics. I dont miss valve one bit.

    • Hi bud, is it still available and fully functional?
      • I wouldn't jump to conclusions, I've chatted to him on facebook. He was selling his gear on SA Music store. If I remember correctly he was selling a mesa boogie amp. He injured his elbow and is getting rid of his stuff. I never had the opportunity to meet him or see the collection, but as common practice dictates, always see the goods before you buy.
        • It's the nature of selling, guys test waters to get a deal.
I've had my fair share of lowball offers, but what irritates me more as previously said are people selling their second hand stuff at new prices and then not budging on the price. Sellers must remember that they cannot offer a warranty on items and regardless of condition, it's still second hand.

The second hand industry in SA is ridiculously expensive opposed to what I saw overseas, general rule of thumb what they use there is a 60% of retail price(obviously doesnt apply to collectibles)

All in all, lowball offers...deal with it because people won't stop. You can just politely say, "no thanks I was looking at this price instead..."-that's what I do, deal until you come to an agreement. That lowballer is still a potential buyer that shows interest in your item, if he can't afford it there's a 50% chance he knows someone who wants it that can afford it; if you are a d*ck to him; that's a 50% chance of a sale that you are throwing out the window because "he hurt your feelings with a lower than expected offer". These are the basics of selling; dont burn bridges and don't be an @ss.
          • I've bought 5 guitars and 3 amps from MF over the years, never had issues.

I luckily bought them when shipping was free and only paid customs
            • I fixed the latency problem on console. Send your audio to a proper audio system, it's perfect now.

The dlc's are great, I especially like you can all the songs from the first rocksmith as well. I lent my friends first rocksmith game and played it, loaded p the new rocksmith and all the songs are there now too ?
              • hahaha, that blues jr was a great amp... but then I also practically "gave" it to BluJu ?

Great man, try out the Cort and it may be amazing ?

for bass tone, I dont think you can go wrong with Sansamp. I use a Bass Driver DI for preamp and DI, I also hear the Sansamp VT Bass is awesome. Music Conn have a few, go try them out, you wont be dissapointed ?

Seriously, a Sansamp into a normal poweramp is mind blowing.
                • I'm gonna be brutally honest here Dom, SX Vintage Series P bass.
They are about R1300 brand new, alder bodies and your choice of necks. Spend another grand to change the pickups and you have a very useable bass for nearly half of what you are looking for and it sounds great. I'm a Fender and Musicman guy but the SX VS is a steal.

With regards to bass amp, what are you gonna use it for? bedroom practice/studio/gig?
If its studio rather just get a good DI, for practice I just hook up to my studio monitors through my sansamp. gives me better tone than most bass amps.
                  • The one model amp no one mentioned is the blackstar ID series

I thought those were amazing for the price and sound. You can select the type of tube you want to model as well.

They also said to achieve the volume of a tube amp, so its 30w is very loud for a solid state
                    • I love it, have it on my ps3. I have all the dlc and previous rocksmith songs as well.

A problem is that there is a slight latency on the console version.it was perfect on the Mac version though so it could just be a console problem.

For recording on a budget, I'd rather get a decent DI box and use software for tonal shaping.
+1 for recording, get a decent di box into your soundcard.
I love the countryman but lately have been using a sansamp di and a Palmer di

The countryman with a P bass will prob still be the winner for the album, that combo just gives me a great transparent thump sound ?
                        • We registered with SAMRO and use cdbaby to get our tracks on iTunes, spotify, amazon etc.

SAMRO was a whole lot of forms to sign and send, takes a few weeks and they will reply if you are declined. Cdbaby was painless and we are on all digital distributions in around 3 days.
                          • Ah man that's sucks ☹ sorry

My friends gears was stolen in Boksburg too, he had an ibanez prestige and a hughes n kettner duotone stolen, never to be found again :'(

                              • I've always like the Badass II bridges in my fenders. Try find one second hand, they really cool.
                                • Because Fender make the EVH 5150 and thats all amp I need ?
