  • Possible new strat day

Hi Guys

So Im in istanbul turkey at the momentand have visited quite a couple of guitar shops. Today I stumbled across a 2002 Fender american strat. Its either a relic model or its been relic'd. The serial no is: Z2043148. Its a cream one with a mint green pickguard. Will try get a pic in here shortly...

I been offered it for R8400.

Does anyone know if they relic'd any strat models in 2002?

Thanks
Not sure if Fender were doing the Relic finish for the mainstream that early so I couldn't say "yes" with authority. Is it not perhaps a well-played (i.e. "naturally relic'ed") standard model?
Thats the thing, I know the custom shop did relic's back then, but not sure about the standard. It has a corona neckplate which makes me think its standard, but the guys in the shop couldnt tell me exactly what it was. Thats why I was hoping someone here may have a little more knowledge. I'll get the pic of it up and hopefully it will bring some info.
I think they were already doing a few special production run relics for shops like Wildcat and maybe even Guitar Centre by 2002, but I'm not entirely sure.
So Here is a pic of the Strat. It has a C-shaped neck with a 9.5" radius. Plays very nicely I might add.

To me it does look like a standard...
it looks indeed like a standard strat with a home made relic
price wise it looks ok, although the home made relic should lower the price a bit
