Well I'm selling a Ibanez gio and a fender frontman on gumtree and I'm having so much fun selling this thing that I'm half in the mood to let it sit there forever just to hear what guys have to say about it. ? http://johannesburg.gumtree.co.za/c-Stuff-for-Sale-musical-instruments-Ibanez-Gio-Electric-Guitar-GRG-DX121-Gio-Fender-FM-15G-Amp-W0QQAdIdZ242658946 I've had about 40 emails pertaining to the sale of this guitar combo, I think that it's priced well, it's a quality product and it's in great condition. Here's some of my fav replies so far. 1) "Hi Gary, I'm liking what I see on gumtree and see that it comes with a bag and includes the amp as well. Can you include a stand and maybe a pedal for that price? If you can then we have a deal." 2) "i have sum items that i'd like to trade for your item, (i think that this is a generic email, but anyway). toaster, snakwitcher, blender and a webber braai": (yeah I'm itching to give you a call) 3) "do you still have the guitar? i'm prepared to go to R1000 as gio's are not worth that much and are basically junk anyway" 4) "what else comes with the guitar, bag and amp?" ( A bloody rolls royce if you pay for it!!!!!) And the best one so far is............... 5) "my mother is buying this for me and wants to hear me play it before she buys it, can you please bring it to Edenvale so she can decide?" (Yeah and what if you suck and she says hell no and I have to drive to JHB for nothing..................lol)

What i'm suggesting is that i come though with my sister, i'll pick up the guitar and amp, take it to my mom so that she can hear it and my sister will stay with you until i come back, that way we both has something of value of the other person.

ROFL, that is just friggin hilarious! But hey, it could be a good trade. Maybe you should just have him send you some pictures of his sister first, I mean it's only fair considering that you sent him pictures of your guitar.

Also, has his sister been set up properly? I mean is she even playable? For all you know she has a problem with her neck and you can't tune her properly. Did he tell you which pickups work best on her? Does she have a G-string? See, these are all important questions and I'm sure your guitar is perfectly good on all of those aspects.

For some reason, I dont think the sister knows about the little brothers plan.

The good news is that she must be over 18 if she can legally drive. So yea, maybe make the trade then. And keep the sister, Im sure after a few months of domestic chores, you can break even.

haai shame... I remember being in school and having to GAS with parent's money/cars... not fun hey...he's willing to leave his sister with a complete stranger just have a chance at buying the guitar - THAT's dedication. A bit dof for a lot of reasons - but dedicated.

Oh wow. Even I got fooled with that one. Ah, 2 'children' to keep is definatelly no deal then. Will cost more maintenance. Oh well, send them back.

I thought about that one as well. I get the impression that the sister is being brought along strictly for a trade........no actual use for her.

I'm not even going to entertain this type of deal, it just sounds so wack, for all I know I'm going to allow a bunch of circus clowns in my house. But I will give it to him....................he's sure got drive............lol.

I still like the "R1000.00 max as it's worth more than I'm willing to pay" - I take it he hasn't noticed that you're not giving it to him for R1000.00 precisely because it IS worth more than he's willing to pay.

I'd ask for a picture of his sister in a G string to see if she is set up correctly. If and when he replies tell him that she's not Worth R1000 and haggle his price down, ask if he has anything better to offer ?
