I have been offered a 94 Gibson Nighthawk special (3 pickup - Ebony) for what I think is a pretty good deal.
Unfortunately if I make the leap - it will be a blind one.
So the possibility of not liking it is quite real - is there anyone out there that would be interested should it not tickle my fancy?

If I may ask, what is "a good deal" money wise?
You can PM me as well.

Not a bad deal at all.
Sure there will be collectors out there that would like one ?

Interesting as you're from Durban and I'm sure there aren't many Nighthawks here, which means I've probably played the one you're looking to buy (a friend of mine had one, but he moved to Australia, maybe he left it behind?)
That being said, AWESOME guitar! Really fantastic playability and sound. If it's the same one, I reckon you'll dig it! ?

I quite liked the Nighthawks - especially the 3-pickup model. People thought they strayed a bit too far into Fender territory, but they are kind of in between Fender/Gibson in sound and feel and tonally a lot more flexible than Gibsons usually are.
Will you like it? I dunno... Few do. But they are pretty unique (not in a Failbird-X way) and well made guitars.

I think R7K is a good price for a nighthawk standard or custom - reasonable for a special? They're versatile, and pretty unique. They didn't catch on so well at first, and there are some questionable issues about trying to put too much into one guitar, but they have a small and growing fan-base. I reckon you could probably sell it on for more if you keep it for ten years ?
You'll have a really unusual, stand-out guitar there.
Is it a custom, a standard, or a special? Got pictures?

I'd take it....have never played one, but they have good rep, on forums....and 7K for a gibson in SA is really reasonable, even considering its a special(iv seen a ebony special being advertised?)...
O and don't forget,they have a strat scale length necks hey... ?

Despite what everyone says I am not going to take it - what I really want is a Les Paul so I'll save a bit more and do it properly.
This does mean that the Nighthawk is there for the taking at 7k.
Thanks for the responses.
