Hi guys,
it looks like I may need a new power amp, and being at the stage where I have more time than money I was looking at various options.

Do any of you know about products from Fort777 otherwise known as Yebo Electronics,
I do buy bits and pieces from them now and then, but I'm no guru when it comes to quality
and tho' things work I am a little suspect hence the "research" here before committing.

This is a kit and needs a build

and this one is ready done

Thanks in Advance
No they are legit. Used them once before, and the stuff was just what I needed. Would definately use them again
Forget the modular kits - by the time you add all the parts together, you might as well have bought something assembled that has a warrantee. I used to build stuff with the (very similar) Antec kits I got from Radio Spares & TV in JHB in the '80s.

Power amps I'd rather buy a decent name brand secondhand than an unknown name cheaply. Then I know exactly what I'm getting. It's also a great time to buy secondhand - lots of really stuff available at ridiculously low prices.
        Shot Alan,
That was kinda along the lines I was thinking in both cases, but thought I'd check it out here first.

A kinda dumb question but I gotta ask, playing bass I only need one channel of a power amp, most are stereo, would running it on one side, input and load, with the other side unplugged be a problem for most modern amps ?
and if not can I get 2 times the life out of it this way :woohoo: ?

        Thanks again.

Not at all - in fact it'll mean less strain on the power supply. You could also run the same signal into both channels with a pair of speakers and double your volume or drive both channels a lot less for the same volume.
Damn ... I guess I'll just have to get into bi-amping now :?

Anyways keeping options and eyes as open as possible.

            Thanks again.
              Hey Gareth

I have built one of the 150W mosfet kits before and used it to replace the power amp in a Peavey KB300 that is very similar to your Peavey. It worked well, although the PCB needed a bit a filing so that the MOSFETs could be aligned properly in the board without the leads shorting to the mounting screws.

+1 on what Alan said though. There are many good name brands available second hand that are going for a song.
