Does anyone over here own one? A review perhaps? Price? It sounds very good on YouTube!

☹ I'm assuming that it hasn't landed here yet!
Saw one at Music Connection. Didn't try it though, but apparently it does sound really good.

Rich, it seems we share similar interests! I will give you an opinion shortly. I ordered one 2 weeks ago from this store http://stores.ebay.com/soundscheapinc and it should be here soon. They had it on special for US $116.70. Visit them often and you'll be surprised by their sales on specific items that run only for a day or two ?

I've had one on my pedalboard for a couple of weeks, but I'm not allowed to offer an opinion on it 'cos I'm affiliated with the VOX importers these days. :? Sad, but true. ☹
So, I got my Ice 9 and also 2 Satchurators. Both pedals work great as regular stomp-boxes that plug directly into the front of an amp.

The Ice 9 is great for classic rock rhythms and works best with Strat-style guitars, meaning single-coil pickups. It sounds fantastic when used in the middle and neck positions, thus an excellent choice for the blues guitarist. You can really get great Texas Blues tones with it but take particular care with the bass setting since the louder an amp gets the less bass is required. I find it's sound very appealing when doing Keith Richards licks and rhythm like Start Me Up and also works fantastic for Sex On Fire by Kings of Leon. That should give you some idea.

The Satchurator is another animal altogether and probably more suited for humbuckers. It's an distortion/Overdrive pedal in the classic sense but voiced for Joe Satriani himself. It's got a nice thick overdrive sound and can be used for all the above but with the added advantage that there is a lot more gain at hand to go from slightly overdriven to high gain by stepping on the "more" button. Once again it's important to get a good eq setting with your particular amp. I found that with a Marshall I have to roll back some treble but with a Fender Hot Rod I add some treble and roll off some bass.

The "more" buttons on each pedal is a welcome feature and works great when you've got the pedal engaged and want to throw in a quick lick or proper solo (when you get the opportunity) and when stepped on will give you more gain and also 2db of output level.
                Nice reviews. 8)

Following forum rules, Mr T may not post the price himself or even approach you via PM with one... unless you PM him to ask him directly first. PM him here: http://www.guitarforum.co.za/pm/?sa=send;u=117

                      Aha, apologies
Thanks for the review Andre. Very good!

I have since acquired a Satchurator, and I love it! Like you say one has to tweak the eq on the pedal to match the particular amp. It's a nice big sound

                        Thanks!

The dreaded GAS pull is strong with this one .... >☹
i am weak ..like a babe in arms weak ...... ?

classy kit as per Vox standards , blue led's are just so sexy and the blue knobs on white look uber cool.... not had a chance to even plug it in yet ☹ but will do so this evening
Like a cuppacino with extra dollops of rich cream, not foamed milk but rich rich warm cream....

The Ice 9 is absolutely mindblowingly good for a pedal at this price point. I played thru it last night with a SSS strat (tonerider pups) into an Orange TT. Very easy to get good tone from it an quite frankly it is more diffiuclt to get a bad tone from the Ice 9.

Will try it with my humbucker equipped guitar in the next couple of days if i can get my mitts off the strat that is ...
